David Hillel

David Hillel has happily pursued the arts and architecture for over 40 years. Formal education carried him to the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, the Technische Hochschule in Berlin and in Vienna, and the Facolta d’Architectura in Florence and in Venice.
We invite you to enjoy the portrayal of depth and visual intrigue. Layers of colors and images are literally cast atop each other in clear resins. Changing light patterns and mirroring effects serve as organic mediums that interplay with and increase the complexity of each piece.

David Hillel’s techniques are unique in their portrayal of depth and reflectivity. He is one of the most significant resin/layered collage artists in the world, and already highly collectible. The art of David Hillel is unique in that the space in which it is hung, and the viewer becomes an integral part of the work. Apart from its dynamic visual nature, David’s artwork strives to address many of the issues and circumstances particular to 20th and 21st century life.

At the Van Nagsael Museum, cod.1.3 (the recent group composed by the artists Loredana Longo and Giuliana Lo Porto) presents a photographic exhibition: Double1#Happy Birthday, which shows the two artists joined like siamese twins, constrained inside a single dress which limits their movements made unnatural and disarticulated from the continuous and prostrating adaptation of the bodies to each other: they can’t look into each other’s eyes, but they are forced to do the same actions and to be joined together.
