In Ars Veritas – Experiences on the art of taste

In partnership with Studio Dimore Collection, Piercing Eyes presents to the public visiting Expo Milano 2015 In Ars Veritas – Experiences on the art of taste, a cycle of events that will be held once a week in the month of May and focusing on the creative relationship between food, art and design.

Conversation springs to life around the table, touching upon cross-cutting topics and revealing some of the top artists and designers that represent contemporary applied art in Italy, associated to quality brands in the food industry. All of this against the elegant and sophisticated backdrop of the Studio Dimore Collection design gallery, that was recently inaugurated in Milan.

Piercing Eyes is a project by Trend and Tradition, one of the 12 winners of the IC – Cultural Innovation call for applications sponsored by Fondazione Cariplo with the collaboration of the Region of Lombardy. The focus of the call was to experiment initiatives to promote, develop and support cultural and creative endeavours, to introduce innovative practices when “making culture”.

Piercing Eyes – Distilled art pieces is a curatorial project dedicated to Italian artists and designers working in contemporary applied arts. It organises cultural events and has a dedicated website to promote the creation and sale of unique pieces, realised by using ancient artisan techniques associated to new production processes and contemporary materials. It acts as a meeting point between creative artists and potential clients for the realisation of bespoke pieces, creating a reference market dedicated specifically to hybrid professional figures whose expertise touches upon art, design and artisan skills.
Its website www.piercing-eyes.com will be online from May 2015.

Studio Dimore Collection stems from a partnership between Stefano Del Corona and Giuseppe Di Salvo. The Florence-based brand opens up to a broad range of vintage furniture pieces, small contemporary productions and also exclusive and original objects that pay tribute to the artisan skills that reprocess materials. Guided by their remarkable intuition, Stefano and Giuseppe are constantly searching for the perfect balance between beauty and distinctiveness, giving life to unique decorative objects that often come from the past but which are completely new in appearance and soul.

Their new cult store was recently opened in Milan in a showroom of 140 sqm. that pays tribute to a concept of style which is definitely out of the ordinary, where vintage pieces flirt with contemporary objects and, shaped by the skilful hands of artisans, come back to life with an altogether new identity.

A Tu per Tè (Tête à Tête on Tea)
Artistic conversations on taste and the art of tea
Pieces by Paolo Polloniato and Luca Schiavon – Tea tasting by Tealicious

In the second event of the cycle In Ars Veritas – Experiences on the art of taste, Piercing Eyes has in store an event which is both an exhibition and a tasting that will guide guests into the world of tea, ranging from the origins of its different essences and its tastes to the aesthetics of tea and the art of contemporary teapots.
Materials, shapes and techniques that contribute to shaping the teapots meet the millennia-long erudition that characterises the culture and production of tea, in a dialogue made of tastes, hints, scents and knowledge.
The futurist ceramic teapots by Paolo Polloniato will be presented alongside the more classically outlined teapots by Luca Schiavon, and associated to an expertly guided Tea tasting session by Tealicious.
