19TH EDITION OF DESIGN MIAMI/
Convention Center Drive & 19th Street Miami Beach, USA
December 05 – 10, 2023
Design Miami/ is delighted to announce the gallery and curio list for its 19th edition, running December 6-10, 2023, with Preview Day on December 5. Taking place in Pride Park, opposite the Miami Beach Convention Center, the fair will feature over 40 gallery and Curio exhibitions, presented alongside a rich program of partnerships and collaborations. Programming will respond to this year’s theme, Where We Stand, as selected by Curatorial Director Anna Carnick, a celebration of design inspired by place, community, and heritage-and the beauty and power that can be drawn from our most intimate, rooted connections.
Jen Roberts, CEO, Design Miami/, says: “The upcoming 19th edition of our Miami Beach flagship fair this December will continue the momentum of this landmark year, following our inaugural Paris edition this October, and looking towards our 20th anniversary in 2024: two incredible milestones for Design Miami/. This year, we welcome an incredible line-up of exhibitors across our gallery, Curio, and partner programs. It is a true pleasure to see returning exhibitors, such as Galerie Patrick Seguin, Friedman Benda, Moderne Gallery, and R & Company, alongside first-time exhibitors including Adrian Sassoon, Atelier Ecru Gallery, Aequo Gallery, and Galerie Melissa Paul, and Marta within our Curio program.”
Grela Orihuela, Senior VP of Fairs says, “We are delighted to return to Miami Beach for the 19th edition of Design Miami/. The chosen curatorial theme, Where We Stand, is a reflection on place and purpose and a celebration of design, heritage, and community; and this year’s gallery and Curio presentations will truly capture this sentiment. Through an array of exceptional designs – both historic and contemporary – and thought-provoking exhibition concepts, Design Miami/ 2023 will once again reconvene as the global forum for design.”
Anna Carnick, Curatorial Director, says, “I am honored to serve as Curatorial Director for this year’s Design Miami/. The fair has always been a platform for inspiring, creative exchange, and this year’s edition continues that beautiful legacy. I chose the theme, Where We Stand, not only to spotlight the role design plays in reflecting and responding to the world around us, but also as an invitation to consider how it might help us navigate this complex, far too often divided moment. Design can be a powerful tool for storytelling and stories allow us to access one another’s humanity. In celebrating objects from around the globe inspired by narratives of place, community, and heritage we all refer to them for strength, clarity and purpose. I hope this year’s Design Miami/ will spark thoughtful conversations about the ties that bind us and how they might inform our paths forward.”
