A’ Design Award and Competition is the worlds’ largest design competition awarding best designs, design concepts and products & services.
A’ Design Award aims to channel the attention of press, interactive medias, design critics, distributors and buyers to the award winners. Awards The A’ Design Prize

Jury
For 2016 – 2017 there are 83 Jury Members in total, composed of design professionals, press members and academics.
The foundation of any good design award, in addition to fair evaluation and judging by an extensive methodology, is to have a strong and expert design competition jury which provides their invaluable knowledge base and insight to evaluate the submitted entries, creating benefit and value for participants by transferring their insights and ideas in form of votes, feedbacks and suggestions. The A’ Design Award and Competition has introduced, for the first time in all design award and competitions, a prejudging procedure called preliminary evaluation and checking which helps participants to get insights about their work before they participate in the design competition finals.

Deadline for submission is February 28.

Selected winners and results will be announced on April 15.

Helmut Lang Archive

Until 12 July 2020, the MAK is showing a temporary intervention by Helmut Lang in the HELMUT LANG ARCHIVE, questioning the archive as a simultaneous collection, storage, and exhibition place, as a store of memories, and the potential of its use. Since retiring from the fashion industry in 2005, the 1956-born Austrian has concentrated on his artistic work, and 20 international museums have received his donations. The MAK is the only institution worldwide where the history of Helmut Lang's brand development and identity can be traced. Since 2014 a thematic area in the MAK DESIGN LAB is permanently dedicated to Helmut Lang. Read more
