Abstract Week is a city-focused programme dedicated to contemporary abstraction, unfolding across exhibitions, artist presentations, and curated encounters. Over six days, it highlights processes of movement, transformation, and material thinking in today’s abstract practices. Bringing together emergent and established artists, Abstract in Motion showcases painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, and functional art objects. The exhibition emphasizes the vitality of form in flux – where gesture, structure, and surface evolve through time and dialogue.

Special Presentation – Modhir Ahmed: Works on Paper

Modhir Ahmed presents a new body of work on paper, developed over several years and shown for the first time in Milan. His practice, rooted in precision and reflection, bridges drawing, printmaking, and abstract composition through refined, experimental techniques. This collection began seven years ago and reached completion in 2025.

Throughout this period, he explored a wide range of materials and processes – including layered printmaking methods, drawing, and gestural studies – to articulate each work in its final form. The resulting series reflects both the evolution of his visual language and the quiet passage of time embedded in the creative process.

Modhir Ahmed is an internationally recognised contemporary artist, known for his innovative work in printmaking, painting, and drawing. He has received numerous international awards, including the prestigious Karlskoga Nobel Art Scholarship, and his works are held in major public and private collections worldwide.
