August 04 – August 07, 2022
The 9th edition of Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong (AAF) will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4 to 7 August 2022, showcasing thousands of contemporary artworks from over 60 hand-picked local and international galleries and exhibitors. The fair will feature an array of exhibitions and programmes.

Young Talent Hong Kong spotlights the creativity of selected young and emerging local talented artists. Crossing Borders & Remote Participation present exceptional artworks from overseas galleries and Special Projects bring along large-scaled installations and art performances. With education and charitable cause as our two core values, AAF emphasizes the importance of Art Therapy and Art Education, bringing workshops and tours to foster and inspire young people for a better understanding of arts, as well as enhance well-being and mental health through art.

MESSAGE FROM THE FAIR DIRECTOR. Regina Zhang, Fair Director, says: “Affordable Art Fair has been showcasing artworks that cater to audiences’ taste and budget and making art accessible to all, with an ethos of transparency, friendliness and art education. We have been active in promoting local art and providing a platform for local art lovers to discover new and emerging Hong Kong artists and their thoughtprovoking works with new perspectives. Among the 60 participating exhibitors, over 40 of them are from Hong Kong. We also believe art is a unique platform for self-expression, self-discovery and even self-love that every individual deserves to have. This is the very reason and driving force behind our mission to democratise the art world”

RISING POWER OF LOCAL ART TALENTS. With a strong focus on the development of the local art ecosystem, Affordable Art Fair provides a solid platform that enables young and emerging artists to further their careers through exposure to a diverse audience of galleries, art buyers and collectors. On the other hand, AAF collaborates with various local creative units and non-profit organisations to promote the democratisation of art. Curated by Jonathan Jay Lee, Young Talent Hong Kong plays with the theme THE NEXTGEN and exhibits the artworks by 26 emerging local artists, representing the spectrum of individuality to create the unified whole we can be. “The 26 artists will demonstrate their ability to envision and interpret a common narrative through distinctive perspectives of the city we live in. This is also our love letter to Hong Kong,” says Jonathan.
