Swedish Health Tech brand Airinum has revolutionised the world of face masks
Airinum was founded in 2015 to combat climate change’s impact on human health. Their mission is to empower people with forward-thinking products to breathe clean air and live healthy lives, regardless of their surroundings, and help raise awareness about climate change and the problems with poor air quality. Airinum has been growing rapidly the last few years and in 2021 alone they have launched two limited edition design collaborations with Swiss fashion brand Bally and Japanese streetwear brand Human Made, and expanded their repertoire of masks with the new Lite Air Mask.
“Since the very start, our mission has been to help people breathe clean air and stay healthy in any surroundings. We have constantly focused on innovation and research to provide the very best air mask on the market. We launched the Urban Air Mask 2.0 back in 2018, and we are now following up with the Lite Air Mask” says Alexander Hjertström, CEO and co-founder of Airinum, and continues “In a perfect world there wouldn’t be a need for our products, but we are proud to be able to provide protection during a time where we are all looking for means to protect ourselves and others.”
The Urban Air Mask is built on protection, comfort and design with a solid seal and fit with high breathability through the air valves. The Lite Air Mask is built on Airinum’s award-winning design heritage and comes with elastic and breathable materials to provide sleek comfort for everyday use. Both the Urban Air Mask 2.0 and the Lite Air Mask are treated with Polygiene®, a Swedish fabric treatment that permanently protects the outside skin-fabric from bacteria and other germs. The washable skins together with the replaceable filters makes an Airinum mask last and is a more environmentally friendly choice than disposable masks. The filter efficance of all Airinum masks are KN95, filtering out PM 2.5 pollution and particles down to the size of 0.3μm. It is certified and tested at RISE R&D center, Stockholm Sweden.
Airinum is also known for their design collaborations where they team up with designers and brands to create a bigger platform to educate people and raise awareness about the issues with air pollution and climate change. Parts or all profit from these collaborations are donated to environmental initiatives to create a better tomorrow with cleaner air.
