Bastille Parfums
Choosing this unusual name for a new French perfumery house is a decision that is not taken lightly. Bastille embodies the desire to push boundaries and highlight legitimate concerns, to be part of the Haute-Perfumery heritage in a modern way whilst being more natural, more sustainable, more ethical, and more transparent without losing sight of the dreams and emotions associated with this beautiful industry. And with this creative energy, Bastille sets in motionthe composition of the fragrances of tomorrow. Perfumes that balance sustainability with desire, tradition, with the future, synthetic with natural, feminine and masculine, power and subtlety, experience and memory.

Each Bastille perfume has the desire to be free and authentic. The House carefully selects the raw materials and ingredients which must meet strict criteria in terms of sourcing. Transparency is key and the brand discloses each ingredient present in its short formulas, meticulously developed by renowned perfumers.

This is a real revolution in perfumery where the formulas have been traditionally and jealously guarded for centuries. Bastille is proud to be 100% made in France – surely a duty for a brand with such a symbolic French name! Born in 2020, from the rebellious spirit of a young Parisian, Bastille is now managed by Sophie Maisant and Pascal Hyafil, two figures of the perfumery industry who put their know-how, their contagious energy and their rigour into the development and growth of this young, effervescent French brand. Beyond the challenge of transparency and naturalness, Bastille infuses an irreverent “je ne sais quoi” to the century-old traditions of excellent craftsmanship of Haute-Perfumery.

Bastille complies with regulations requiring a minimum of 95% natural ingredients for a fragrance to be called natural. Each perfume has been imagined with audacity to leave an elegant and nuanced trail: a rare find in the world of natural perfumes. A challenge for the perfumer whose creative palette is de facto considerably reduced, thus demanding increased creativity and dexterity to match 95% natural ingredients with only a few synthetic molecules, giving life to exceptional accords and guaranteeing longevity on the skin.

The perfumes are created in Paris, assembled in Grasse, and bottled in the Paris region. Some of the components come from European partners; especially the bottles that are produced in Italy. They are decorated by a craftsman in the Val-de-Marne area. The outer packaging is made of recycled cardboard in a Parisian workshop.
