Bôhten
Launched in 2012 by Ghanaian brothers, Nana B. Osei and Nana K. Osei, Bôhten was born out of the desire to build an eyewear brand that celebrates the values and richness of their African heritage and multicultural upbringing. The brand offers a range of bold, thoughtfully designed frames that cater to a variety of facial profiles, with an emphasis on Black faces – a consumer base that has historically been excluded from the eyewear conversation.
Bôhten works exclusively with certified Black-owned lab partners in the US and Ghana to produce its prescription lenses, and its products have been stocked in over 40 major retailers and boutiques worldwide, including Revolve, Nordstrom, Shopbop, Anthropologie, and Harry Rosen.
Through its commitment to working towards social change in the areas of sustainability and eyecare, Bôhten has facilitated eye screenings for over 500 school children in Accra, and supported tree planting projects to curb deforestation in Kenya and the Northern Region of Ghana.
Bôhten has partnered with YouTube and Disney to create exclusive capsule collections that blend exceptional craftsmanship and cultural storytelling – an approach that continues to inspire a global audience through eyewear that transcends utility.
