BOÎTES DE LA PAIX
Thinking outside the boxes!
The wine rack and the mini bar part of the BOITES DE LA PAIX (Peace Boxes) collection are made from authentic US army ammunition boxes from the ‘70s. Influenced by the Ready-Made and the minimalist art, BOÎTES DE LA PAIX fall within the upcycling design contemporary movement. Witness of history and inhabited by a soul, their symbolic aspect is as important as their aesthetic and functionality.

Our artistic creation pays tribute to the forests. Millions of majestic pines were cut down to build millions of ammo boxes, which were discarded after use. Tons of them were burned and buried. Our supplies have now become a rarity. We keep an authentic dated stamp at the back of each box. The hinges, clasps and ropes are original. Each box is unique, marked by the passage of time. A collection piece is offered in limited edition.
BOÎTES DE LA PAIX have been exhibited in prestigious design shows and art exhibitions. They are part of two Museums collections. The two designers – Montreal based multidisciplinary artists Anne Lapierre and Bruno Chouinard – have also exhibited installations, land art and art films in North America and in Europe.
