CANVAS INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR consists of 3 main sections: THE SKIN PROJECT, OUT OF BALANCE and MIXING IDENTITIES.
The word “canvas” was used for the first time in Italy in the 14th century and it has become the most common support medium for oil painting, replacing wooden panels. During the centuries, the canvas’ meaning has changed, starting from paintings, through the photographic and cinematographic film, exploring the human body, to the digital world. Canvas is the creatives’ common ground, on which they can express themselves. We invite all the artists to share their personal artistic research through any kind of media, from painting to sculptures and installation, from photography to video art and live performance.
Artists interested in taking part in our shows are free to be sponsored and supported by institutions, organizations, governments, and their representatives; the logos of their sponsors will be included in all the communication (digital and print) of the events.
Deadline for applications is February 17, 2022 (11.59 PM of your local time)

Palazzo Bembo is one of the late Gothic Venetian buildings built in the right middle of the famous Canal Grande, a few meters from the renowned Rialto Bridge. Its name comes from the humanist and literary cardinal Pietro Bembo, known for the so-called “linguistic question” during the Italian XV century.
The facade of the building, with all its gothic pentafore, is as fascinating as the interior which is divided into three floors and characterized by large salons. The seventeenth-century staircase overlooks the internal courtyard that leads to the noble floor, where decorations are dating back to the same century, in Baroque style. The exhibition space, on the first floor, overlooks the Canal Grande and the Rialto Bridge, giving a suggestive view both day and night.
SOME OF OUR LAST EXHIBITIONS
Jessica Müller, Switzerland/Brazil
“The concept of an art platform based on fluidity, connection and accessibility are extremely important for contemporary artists such as me. I find it very inspiring to have the opportunity to connect with other artists, collectors and art critics. The virtual platform has opened many doors for the art scene that was before limited by a physical distance. Yes. I am happy that this festival embraces artists from a plurality of backgrounds, the diversity of the art exhibited was very inspiring. As an artist I am always searching to connect with the audience on a deeper level, and for the viewers to see a glimpse of themselves reflected in my work.“

Annette Mahoney, Denmark
“I have really enjoyed the whole process of working with the curator and all of Itsliquid, and would definitely do it again if I get the opportunity. I love the platform. The design appeals to me, and I have read almost every single article on it. I am a bit of a fashionista, so the fashion bit is my favourite part, but generally, I always follow it and keep a check on upcoming exhibitions and the artist highlighted.“

It has been stimulating and motivating to connect to a platform that gives rising artists international visibility and a channel to connect, not only to other artists but to resources that help us in promoting our art and events. We are just starting and ITSLIQUID has been very supportive of our project.“

I am very honoured to be awarded as the winner in your 9th International Contest and ITSLIQUID has helped me to reach a much larger audience than I had. Both through its platform as well as through the physical exhibitions in London and Venice.“
