PIXELS OF IDENTITIES – THE BODY LANGUAGE explores all the different facets of social, physical and cultural identities of our contemporary societies. The concept is a research about the body, conceived not only as a material organic system, but also as an evolving organism with peculiar sensations, feelings and characteristics, in constant connection with other bodies and space. The human body is what connects us to the world; the first mean which helps us perceive and know the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its own language and ways of expression. We invited artists not only to show us their idea of body and to celebrate it through art, but also to communicate with us through their bodies.

BAC Gallery – Bogotá Arte Contemporáneo is an exhibition space dedicated to display, promote, market and sell the work, practice of contemporary Colombian and international artists. The art held in display will be presented in multiple mediums of expression.

INTERVIEW: HEIKE-ANGELA BALTRUWEIT

Interviews | October 12, 2020

I am looking for abstract compositions in my surroundings to capture them photographically. The objects and situations are neither changed, arranged nor manually illuminated, nor are they subsequently edited on the computer, even the detail is identical to the shot. All pictures are 'Pure Photography'. I see my surroundings as a 'natural exhibition space'. I find works of art on the pavement, on building walls, in the water and in factory buildings. These works of art are fixations of the moment and therefore difficult to reproduce. A different angle of view, a changed incidence of light, and the colours, bizarrely changed forms have disappeared. Read more
