ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with ACIT Venice – Italian-German Cultural Association, is thrilled to launch the open call for the VENICE EXPERIMENTAL VIDEO AND PERFORMING ART FESTIVAL 2026. This special one-night event, dedicated entirely to cutting-edge video and performance art, will be held during CONTEMPORARY VENICE – 19TH EDITION 2026. This international exhibition will be hosted within the prestigious 16th-century Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello (click here to explore the venue) scheduled from October 16 to October 30, 2026 featuring an exclusive selection of worldwide talents, creating a dynamic dialogue between photography, painting, video art, sculpture, and performance art in the heart of Venice, during the 61st Venice Biennale of Art.

The selected video works will be featured throughout the entire period of the exhibition, while the performances will take place on the opening night. We invite performers, dancers, video makers and filmmakers to be inspired by the magical power of Venice and to analyze the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness.

Since 2001, ITSLIQUID Group has organised over 350 international events, engaging more than 10,000 artists across over 60 global venues. Its initiatives have featured prestigious museums like the CCCB – Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona in Spain, the NCCA – National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Moscow, the MuMo – Museum Montanelli in Prague, and the MUST Museum in Lecce, in addition to numerous galleries and private foundations. Thanks to its partnership with Sedition, ITSLIQUID has presented masters such as Bill Viola and Refik Anadol, offering high-level opportunities for young, mid-career, and renowned artists.

The VENICE EXPERIMENTAL VIDEO AND PERFORMING ART FESTIVAL 2026 is focused on the relationship between body and space and the hybridisation between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary times. People, backgrounds, societies, progress, cities and all their inputs create hybrid identities, modifying each other and being mixed in prospect to shape a better world.

The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality: a strong communication system with its language and infinite ways of expression.

After many years of research and exhibitions about the evolution of the idea of identity, we ask artists to share their personal tales through videos and performances, to create a link between their personal experience and the audience, and to tell us the stories and reasons behind their works.

The number of works you can submit is unlimited. Participation in the art show requires an entry fee only for selected artworks. Participation is open to artists, architects and designers, associate groups and studios.

Artists interested in taking part in our shows are free to be sponsored and supported by institutions, organisations, governments and their representatives; the sponsors’ information will be included in all the communication of the event.

OUR LOCATION

Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello is one of the most well-known Renaissance palaces in Venice. It is a historical building dating back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by several noble Venetian families, as demonstrated by the frescoed ceilings, the artistic stuccos and the fine furniture that enriches its rooms. The Palace welcomes visitors with its beautiful private garden on the ground floor, and then it gathers the guests in its large first-floor salons, in which the past and present dialogue together. The restored Old Masters’ frescoes and the contemporary art masterpieces that are periodically shown in the exhibitions hosted here make Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello the perfect location for the balance between old and new, between ancient environment and contemporary art, architecture and design.

Today, the building is managed by ACIT Venice – the Italian-German Cultural Association – which is considered one of the most important intercultural associations in Europe. Thanks to the ACIT unceasing cultural activity, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello nowadays has frequent collaborations with the Goethe Institute and with other local and international institutions, maintaining its ancient reputation. Because of these relations, it presents a huge program of memorable art exhibitions, conferences, congresses and concerts. Among the last institutional exhibitions is its participation in the 58th Venice Biennale with the Guatemala pavilion, the Dominican Republic pavilion and the Grenada pavilion. ITSLIQUID Group already had the pleasure to hold some festivals and exhibitions in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, such as MORPHOS Festival and the FUTURE IDENTITIES Festival, both in 2014.
