Call for artists: Venice Experimental Video and Performance Art Festival

ITS LIQUID GROUP, in collaboration with Venice Events and Ca’ Zanardi, is proud to announce the open call for Venice Experimental Video and Performance Art Festival, the international festival, that will be presented during the same period of the BIENNALE ARCHITETTURA 2018 – 16th International Architecture Exhibition.

Venice Experimental Video and Performance Art Festival is organized and curated by Arch. Luca Curci (founder and director of THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, ITS LIQUID GROUP and LUCA CURCI ARCHITECTS), in collaboration with Venice Events at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, and organized and curated by Arch. Luca Curci and Andrea Chinellato (director of Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi) at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi.

Venice Experimental Video and Performance Art Festival will be started in Venice, at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi on July 26, 2018 and at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space on July 27, 2018 during PLACES, second appointment of SURFACES FESTIVAL, and will be also presented on September 27, 2018 at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi and on September 28, 2018 at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space during SPACES, third exhibition of SURFACES FESTIVAL in Venice.

 

 

Venice Experimental Cinema and Performance Art Festival is focused on the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary time. People, backgrounds, societies, progress, cities and all their inputs create hybrid identities, modifying each other and being mixed in prospect to shape a better world.
The festival aims to conduct a research and to offer to artists and audience a 360° experience about the body, conceived not only as a material organic system connected to space, but also as an evolving organism with peculiar sensations, feelings and characteristics.

 

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES
– Experimental Cinema and video art
The number of works you can submit is unlimited and free. The submitted films must be the original works of the filmmakers/artists. The participation is open to: artists, photographers, filmmakers, and videomakers.

– Performance Art
The number of works you can submit is unlimited and free. Selected performance pieces will be presented live during the festival. The participation in the festival for selected performances is FREE.

Artists, photographers, performers, dancers and video makers are invited to submit artworks, video art works, experimental films, performances art and dance pieces. To take part in the selection, send your works’ submission with a CV/biography, some still images, links of videos/films via e-mail to lucacurci@lucacurci.com

 

The number of works you can submit is unlimited. The participation in the festival requires an entry fee only for selected artworks. Participation open to: artists, architects, designers, photographers, video makers, performers, architects and designers, associate groups and studios. 

Artists interested in taking part in our shows, are free to be sponsored and supported by institutions, organizations, governments and their representers; the logos of their sponsors will be included in all the communication (digital and print) of the events. The participation in the art show requires an entry fee only for selected artworks. Artists are free to take part in one or more of the programmed events. The number of works you can submit is free and unlimited.

Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi (Cannaregio 4132, Venice) is a residential palace dating back to the 16th century which, over the centuries, has been added on to by various noble Venetian families and is one of the most evocative and beautiful palaces in the city of Venice. Sumptuous and possessing particular charm, Ca’ Zanardi is located in a most peaceful setting and has its own delightful private garden as well as a magnificent terrace full of sun and colours.

Ca’ Zanardi is located close to the Ca’ D’Oro, the splendid 15th century gothic palace along the Grand Canal. It is easily reachable by foot, after a two minute walk from the Ca’ D’Oro water bus stop, or by boat using the palazzo’s private pier positioned along the fetching Santa Caterina canal. The refined elegance of the palazzo’s halls and common areas and the delicacy of its original 16th century furnishings create a fascinating setting.
