ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with ACIT Venice – Italian-German Cultural Association, is pleased to announce the open call for CANVAS VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2026, an international exhibition dedicated to photography, painting, video art, installation/sculpture, and performance art. The event will take place in Venice, inside the historic Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello (click here to learn more about our location) and in other prestigious venues, from January 23 to February 06, 2026, during one of the most fascinating moments of the year: the magical Venice Carnival.

This edition of CANVAS is curated through two main sections, THE BODY LANGUAGE and FUTURE LANDSCAPES, offering artists the opportunity to explore the relationship between identity, space, and contemporary transformations within the vibrant context of Venice.

Since 2001, ITSLIQUID Group has organised over 350 international events, engaging more than 10,000 artists across over 60 global venues. Its initiatives have featured prestigious museums like the CCCB – Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona in Spain, the NCCA – National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Moscow, the MuMo – Museum Montanelli in Prague, and the MUST Museum in Lecce, in addition to numerous galleries and private foundations. Thanks to its partnership with Sedition, ITSLIQUID has presented masters such as Bill Viola and Refik Anadol, offering high-level opportunities for young, mid-career, and renowned artists.

The word “canvas” was used for the first time in Italy in the 14th century, and it has become the most common support medium for oil painting, replacing wooden panels. Over the centuries, the canvas’ meaning has changed, starting from paintings, through photographic and cinematographic film, exploring the human body, to the digital world. Canvas is the creatives’ common ground, on which they can express themselves. We invite all the artists to share their personal artistic research through any kind of media, from painting to sculptures and installation, from photography to video art and live performance.

CANVAS INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2026 consists of two curated sections, each exploring a distinct artistic dimension:

– THE BODY LANGUAGE
An exhibition dedicated to the physical and emotional architecture of human identity, exploring the silent dialogue between body, mind, and space. It invites artists to investigate how movement, perception, and memory shape our inner landscapes and influence the way we relate to one another. Click here to learn more about this section.

A reflection on the evolving relationship between humans and the environments we shape. This section explores new aesthetic and conceptual visions of natural and urban spaces, highlighting how innovation, ecological awareness, and creative experimentation can generate landscapes without boundaries, where imagination becomes a tool for designing the world of tomorrow. Artists, photographers, video makers, and performers are invited to submit their works. To take part in the selection, send your works’ submissions with a CV/biography, some still images (for video art), links to videos/films/performances and pictures via e-mail to info@itsliquid.com

We invite artists to explore the profound dialogue between the human body and the environments we shape, revealing how gestures, emotions, spaces, and landscapes continuously redefine our collective identity. All forms of artistic expression are welcome, offering personal visions that illuminate the evolving relationship between humanity and its future worlds.

The participation includes the following services
– exhibition space managed by art professionals
– assisting with customs formalities, international shipping and local transport
– assisting in finding accommodation
– the design and printing of invitation cards, posters
– the global and local press office, publicity, press, banners, totem, etc.
– the realisation of the exhibition website and dedicated press releases
– mounting and dismounting of the exhibition
– exhibition opening event

Among the last great shows, SURFACES Festival, BORDERS Art Fair, six editions of BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR, 17 editions of CONTEMPORARY VENICE, 16 editions of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR and 22 editions of VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR, presenting more than 10,000 talented artists, from the emerging to the iconic.

Ever since 2001, ITSLIQUID Group has presented a high-quality selection of collective and solo shows in several locations worldwide, creating a unique opportunity to exchange new ideas and increase and develop the dialogue with a network of art professionals. Making contemporary art accessible to all.

ITSLIQUID Group continues to shape international art experiences, building a solid platform to exhibit, grow, and gain visibility within contemporary culture, while supporting and promoting the creative journey of each participant. Our projects are designed to encourage dialogue and experimentation, offering space for both emerging and established talents.

The number of works you can submit is unlimited. Participation in the art show requires an entry fee only for selected artworks. Participation is open to artists, architects and designers, associate groups and studios.

Artists interested in taking part in our shows are free to be sponsored and supported by institutions, organisations, governments and their representatives; the sponsors’ information will be included in all the communication (digital and print) of the events.

OUR LOCATION

Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello is one of the most well-known palaces of the Renaissance in Venice. It is a historical building dating back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by several noble Venetian families, as demonstrated by the frescoed ceilings, the artistic stuccos and the fine furniture that enriches its rooms. The Palace welcomes visitors with its beautiful private garden on the ground floor, and then it gathers the guests in its large first-floor salons, in which the past and present dialogue together. The restored Old Masters’ frescoes and the contemporary art masterpieces that are periodically shown in the exhibitions hosted here make Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello the perfect location for the balance between old and new, between ancient environment and contemporary art, architecture and design.

Today, the building is managed by ACIT Venice – the Italian-German Cultural Association – which is considered one of the most important intercultural associations in Europe. Thanks to the ACIT unceasing cultural activity, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello has frequent collaborations with the Goethe Institute and with other local and international institutions nowadays, maintaining its ancient reputation. Because of these relations, it presents a huge program of memorable art exhibitions, conferences, congresses and concerts. Among the last institutional exhibitions, is its participation in the 58th Venice Biennale with the Guatemala pavilion, the Dominican Republic pavilion and the Grenada pavilion. ITSLIQUID Group already had the pleasure to hold some festivals and exhibitions in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, such as MORPHOS Festival and FUTURE IDENTITIES Festival, both in 2014.
