Casa Futebol by Axel de Stampa and Sylvain Macaux

French architects Axel de Stampa and Sylvain Macaux of 1Week1Project have proposed the project “Casa Futebol“, a reappropriation of the stadiums renovated or built for the World Cup.

Their idea consists in designing modular housing units in such way that they could fit between the concrete pylons that runs around the outside of the stadium. Because there are 12 different stadiums around Brazil, the design would need to be modified for each venue, which will lead to replacing parts of the stands for some.

Stadiums will continue to be used, receiving soccer matches, with part of the money raised by ticket revenue used to finance the construction and maintenance of dwellings.
