LONDON CONTEMPORARY is an International Art Fair that presents collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists. The 2024 edition represents a forum for the direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals. The art fair features paintings, sculptures, photography, installations, video art and live performance.

It analyzed the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary times.

We invited artists, architects and designers to be inspired by the magical power of London, exploring the connection between desires, needs, and fears through rituals that bring humankind to change, transform and evolve their inner world.

LONDON CONTEMPORARY became a stage for the compelling exploration of societal nuances and the battle for self-acceptance explored by Zorhia Allen. The Jamaican artist delved into themes of social stratification, racial discrimination and the quest for selfhood, resonating deeply with the analysis of the relationship between body and space. Her paintings serve as a powerful observation on the pervasive issue of “psychological invisibility,” capturing the yearning for a sense of belonging in our societies.

A significant contribution related to the deep observation of our societies was provided by Anna Tamvaki, a visual artist whose artistic exploration navigates the delicate intersection between childhood, symbolizing innocence and purity, and adulthood as a negation of societally assigned roles and natural states. At the core of Tamvaki’s artistic expression lies a profound engagement with feminist ideals and diversity, but she also invites us to contemplate the intricacies of identity, challenging societal norms and celebrating the multifaceted nature of the human experience.

Artfidem, inspired by a familial devotion to the realm of art, seeks to weave the threads of faith into the tapestry of human connection. The principal purpose is to transcend the canvas aiming to instill belief in the power of trusting, becoming an integral part of a shared narrative – the genesis of all faith. From this foundation, the extraordinary emerges: in Artfidem’s canvases, powerful strokes traverse the surface in different directions, serving as a testament to the intersection of artistic expression and spiritual introspection.

London, with its magical power, became not only a backdrop but an active participant in the artist’s exploration of desires, needs, and fears. In this context, the rich tapestry of Miss J‘s works invited viewers to engage in a sensory exploration. As a self-taught artist, her works resonate with a genuine vibration that captivates spectators, transporting them into her distinctive creations, which seem to come alive with a palpable sense of movement and emotion. The multidisciplinary artist Agata Haras Martins marked her contribution through her works that blend traditional painting, drawing, and digital art to imbue them with a distinct and captivating atmosphere. In her creations, she engages in an intimate dialogue with the soul, exploring the profound gift of experiencing life through the senses, revealing the emotions and feelings deeply hidden inside oneself.
