Born in Urumqi in 2000, Kangyi Xu holds a Bachelor degree in Finance and a Master degree in Mathematical Finance. Photography serves as his purest, intuitive emotional bridge to perceive and resonate with the world, becoming the core carrier of his personal artistic expression and spiritual output.

Completely self-taught in photography, Xu has never received systematic academic training in fine art or visual creation. Instead, he has gradually built up his independent aesthetic system and unique photographic vision through long-term street wandering, continuous visual accumulation, daily observation of life, and persistent self-reflection. He primarily shoots with the Fujifilm X-T30 II, and he is deeply drawn to the camera’s natural, soft, and delicate color rendition.

The warm, restrained, and transparent tonal characteristics of Fujifilm perfectly fit his gentle and introspective creative temperament, shaping his highly consistent and recognizable visual style. His photographic practice firmly centers on three core themes: street documentation, humanistic observation, and the delicate interplay of light and shadow. He is keenly aware that every stranger passing by in the street carries an independent life trajectory, hidden struggles, and gentle tenderness unknown to others, and he dedicates his lens to recording these overlooked inner worlds.
