Yuxi Liu

Yuxi is a young professional multidisciplinary designer born in China in 1994. Her talent for painting began to emerge when she was five years old. She began to learn painting professionally with her Painting Enlightenment teacher. In her childhood, what accompanied her most were pencils and colours. She placed her feelings and words in painting and enjoyed the freedom and happiness that painting brought her. She left her country and family to begin her undergraduate studies in graphic design at the SVA – School of Visual Arts in New York. A completely unfamiliar environment and culture brought her a different mental experience. Recalling the first three years of her life in New York, her memory is filled with busyness and learning. She enjoys the fullness of the moment and the days surrounded by art.

She loves the diverse culture in New York, and everything around her brings her endless creative inspiration. After graduation, she continued her master’s studies at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. During these 6 years of study and design, she fell madly in love with design and art. She got her first full-time job in a Design Agency in New York after leaving school. Her works focus on the fields of visual identity, UI/UX, product and packaging design, and environmental graphic design. She always seeks innovative approaches to convey values and messages through the power of design. Dieter Rams’s 10 good design principles had a great influence on her. Yuxi focuses on functional, simple, sustainable, creative, and aesthetically pleasing of her design work. Yuxi loves learning about new technologies and trying to apply them to her artworks.

Dear Home as a virtual museum platform brings endless Interior design inspirations and ideas; The museum has a unique, fun design learning program that allows people to experience the fun of design in a game. Participants can create a virtual space on the platform, exhibit their original interior design works, and share their stories in different display forms. Yuxi believes design is not out of reach, everyone can do their own home design. The museum is also an educational platform to show new design inspirations and to express people’s love for home. participants can get design inspiration, elevate design passion and skills, and build personal design styles on the platform.

"My art-making emerges as poignant expressions of ineffable yearning. Each crafted curve and enigmatic form become models of my emotions, a visual poem encapsulating the essence of my longing. Themes of "missing" reverberate through my work - whether it’s an empty hook, drawer, or cradle - all serve as metaphors for the profound gaps within the human experience. It symbolizes the absence of function, the lack of context, and the void of knowledge; it is a reminder of the uprooted aspects of our lives". Read more
