“Our wildlife photography journey started in South Africa in 2010 when Prashant’s work took us to Durban. Being city kids, our previous wildlife experiences were limited to zoos. To see them in the wild, roaming free, was a real eye-opener. Keen to explore the wild and learn photography on the field, we hired professional cameras and lenses and we went on a photography tour to Zambia guided by a professional photographer. Life after that would never be the same as we understood the advantages of good gear and more importantly the steep learning curve when we travel with professional photographers. Thereafter we took every opportunity to travel with professional guides, even as work took us to places like Mumbai, Dubai and Nairobi. Under the tutelage and mentorship of some incredible photographers, we honed our skills and our styles.”

“After years of photography, we have understood that the photos that we truly love were the ones that conveyed beauty and emotion, artistically. We try to photograph wild animals as gentle and sensitive yet awe-inspiring creatures and hope that by sharing our work, we inspire people to help protect them. Interestingly, although we are usually in the same place and at the same sighting, we often make very different images. Photos are the sum of all our life experiences. Preeti is drawn to beauty and tenderness in wildlife (like in mother child interactions) and is the more likely to get the photos that involve patient waiting while Prashant is drawn to dramatic lighting and is more likely to experiment with wide animal-scapes. As a result, we chase scenes and moments rather than species.”

Since 2018, our work has been getting recognized and awarded by experts. In 2022 our photo ‘Hallelujah!’, won us the title of The Greatest Maasai Mara photographer of the year. And in 2023 we were the winners in Better Photography Magazine’s photographer of the year competition. Our work has since been exhibited at Miami Red Dot and is represented in ADC Fine Art in Cincinnati, Ohio. We will be part of World Art Dubai in May 2024.

“We explore three themes in our work. While in “Of a Time Past”, we explore the timeless nature of subjects and their surrounds, in “Ties that Bind” we explore the almost human like bonds that exist in the relationships the sentient beings have to members in their group. Finally, in “Tales of Mystery and Wonder” we showcase moments captured on camera that have the viewer questioning reality.”
