“I drew from an early age, as I learned to paint in 1975, but then I went through my engineering career. In 2001, I started painting again, attending an oil painting studio for 8 years: in these 22 years reside my production and exhibitions. Basically, my style has remained the same over the years, slowly changing brushstrokes and thickness. What is unique about me and my work is the presence of time, the life that is passing through”.

“My works focus mainly on my relationship with the world and the time, although from time to time I identify with a beautiful image that will give me the pleasure of painting it. I am always looking for a new idea, a new image, and there have been 22 years of work. One reflection to mention when I see the works done is what ideas will come and their representations on the canvas“.

“I explore four main themes in my work, always using oil on canvas. The first theme is personal and reflects my own perception of self. Recently, I have been making efforts in this direction to bring my perception of reality into abstractions. Another theme revolves around landscapes, particularly those associated with my childhood city. I also explore the interplay of light and still-life objects. Lastly, portraits hold a special place in my work and warrant a separate chapter”.

“Nowadays I´m not just making technical improvements but also enhancing my thematic identifications among so many fields that works together like the poetry of childhood memories, poems, the melancholy, the beauty of cozy images that come to my eyes, and the contemporary art. It was not an easy task, I known, but in this process, I grew up to a state that makes me feel better: concerned about the lines, the shadows, the harmony between colors, I feel at home.
