The openings in both locations were opened with the magnetic performance of Brioni, an italian artist who lives in England, that combines art and music playing her paintings triggered as an electronic drum, as well as the performance of Ayshia Taskin, whose work concerned with the visual poetry of the human body, its development, subjectivity, unison, fluidity and continuance. The evenings went on with the inspiring performance of Jordina Ros Gou & Pere Estadella at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space and with the strong act of Endika Basaguren Ansoleaga and Federica De Francesco & Matteo Gentiluomo at Misericordia Archives.

All this energy was surrounded by the beautiful works of the selected artists, among them Amos Gazit, from Israel, Rodney Durso and Stephen Daly (USA), Erika Barillari Davel and Crissy Oakfield (UK), Ximena Ovrid (Norway), Szur-Szabò Edit (Hungary), Iskender Giray and Seray Vural (Turkey).

The fifth edition of CONTEMPORARY VENICE is focused on the theme of IDENTITIES and on the relationship between man, society and contemporary cities. The exhibition explores the lifestyles and the ways of being that run on a parallel level of our ordinary life. Everyday behaviors are the actual reflection of cities and societies we have created and that have developed a personal identity. This new city character becomes the new order that modifies our everyday life.
