Feedback release: THE BODY LANGUAGE 2020
ITSLIQUID International Art Exhibition
Venice | February 13 – May 07, 2020
THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space | Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi
ITSLIQUID GROUP, in collaboration with Venice Events and Ca’ Zanardi, is proud to announce the stunning success of THE BODY LANGUAGE – ITSLIQUID International Art Exhibition 2020, held in Venice during the period of Venice Carnival 2020, at the art gallery THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space and at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi, from February 13 to May 07, 2020.
THE BODY LANGUAGE analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness.
The opening day was crowded in both locations and the evening party was made magical by the moltitude of the artworks selected, which confronted with the incredible imagination of the visitors.
The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality; all the artists communicate in many different ways their perception of this concept, at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space starting from SameSource, which photography explores human sexuality and its relationship with art. Christel Van Hemelrijck uses oil painting on canvas to present us her lyric expressionism visions: every painting is a story. Her emotions are expressed through the language of bold colors, with laconic, solid composition and delicate texture mainly on large canvasses. Each painting by Carine Hayoz is an urban spatial symphony; with multilevel rust red, black and white shades seems to resonate Manhattan or Chicago in “City of Hope”: tiny figures move about a wide promenade in shapes so fine to seem as shadows, yet occult directors of the theater of life in the big city. As an artist and architect, Zeljka Paic combines her two professions and creates an original style in painting: imagination followed by knowledge in geometry, composition and color harmony are the base of her art. The viewers can feel the atmosphere in the painting through colors and have intellectual satisfaction from geometry. For Stefania Lippi, photography is a love affair with life; liquid and floating images allow to go deeper and wiser to a direct access to yourself, wherever your soul is inspired to go.

In Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi the evening started with Monika Thoms‘ performance “Bluebird”, a mix of mask, body paint, costume, rolled stones, thrown ice, rice, feathers, paper, a dance of bees, all speeding up with crescendo of sounds. Renata Novaes “In the heart of the Roots” has a walk through the labyrinth of our minds to towards the ancestor’s roots, deep in the heart of our subconscious. The performance of Thuban Guglielmucci is based on the idea of sharing: at this moment the idea of sharing aspects of everyday life, especially on social networks, is a normal thing but it is superficial. A deep sharing of one’s personal path means, mainly, to give something and not necessarily with a return of benefit.
The other artists as well have been inspired by the magical power of Venetian costumes: the duo Ron Miller (Ronny and Marcus) believe that what they see is charged with their own projections and what you see from them, is your own emotisions and thoughts. Marco Avigni creates his artworks in large formats in oil, acrylic and mixed media under cubist influence towards figurative representations in connection with abstraction. Oscar Olivares likes to use vibrant colors to express all the emotions of the moment and the focus of light that he put on each stroke, in some way is like transforming every brushstroke in hope. Temel Nal‘s unique photoworks unite the opposite forces of abstract and figurative in a powerful interaction of imagination and reality. John Down is an expressive and passionate artist, he is particularly fascinated with natural phenomena: fractals, the science of patterns, quantum physics and how everything is related to everything and everything else.
THE BODY LANGUAGE has definitely showed the energy of the nonverbal communication and physical behaviors in Arts, thanks to all our talented artists!
