ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with YMX Arts and Mercato Metropolitano, is proud to announce the stunning success of LONDON CONTEMPORARY International Art Fair. The opening was held in London, at THE LINE Contemporary Art Space and will run from September 27 to October 25, 2019, during the same period of Frieze London (03 – 06 October, 2019, curated by Diana Campbell Betancourt and Lydia Yee).

LONDON CONTEMPORARY is an International Art Fair that presents collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists. ITSLIQUID Group, with an experience of more than 250 art exhibitions all around the world and eleven editions of international fairs, is proud to announce the debut of LONDON CONTEMPORARY that represents a forum for direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals, featuring paintings, sculptures, photography art, installations, video art and live performance.

LONDON CONTEMPORARY International Art Fair hosted a wide variety of artists, each one with its own interpretation of the Fair main theme: the Synergy Group, five dynamic female artists who fight for promoting peace, understanding, cultural and religious tolerance in a multi-cultural world; Natalia Kapchuk devoted her artworks to the problem of sustainability and global climate change; the paintings of Darja Štefančič are withdrawn from our space and time and moved to the spheres of the imaginary, the fairy-tale, the dreamlike, the visionary: they are endowed with mystery, they possess enigmas and a special aura which elevates them to a surreal state, to hovering somewhere in the cosmic vastness; Ellen Klijzing focused the attention on technology that, as well as nature itself, shows beauty and wonder of interweaving aspects to shape and deduce the choice in art work: spectators will be forced to see objects in show cases as they are part of research itself; Anne-Kristin Vaudour tries to explore the fluidity between genders and ethnicities, she aspires to project a futuristic being that is the result of globalization, the need to adapt to increasing pollution and the always greater dominance of A.I. in our lifes.

During LONDON CONTEMPORARY International Art Fair has been presented the Experimental Video and Performance Art Festival, from 03 to 06 October, 2019, during the same period of Frieze London. The Festival has provided artists with the great opportunities to show videos and play live performances.

The Experimental Video and Performance Art Festival analyzed the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its own language and infinite ways of expression. The Festival focuses also on the concept of the borders and the structures between body, mind and soul, the human identity and the city, the space and the ground.

Perfect demonstrations have been given by Helen Adove Hawk with her “Queen of the Forest”, which comprises of songs, butoh/experimental dance and spoken word, inspired by the elements, folk myths, fairytales and ancient legends; Dascha Esselius who creates a flow of new, humoristic and unexpected shapes and transforms the contact of two scientists minds and bodies into one form which continuously mutates until everything implodes and disappears in a horizontal line; or Lina Blomqvist whose idea is to interconnect the visuals with the audio in a way that they together form a symbiosis. All that is LONDON CONTEMPORARY International Art Fair.

Mm London

ABOUT MERCATO METROPOLITANO

Mercato Metropolitano started with a pilot project in 2015 during the World Expo in Milan, regenerating a 150,000 sq.ft. disused railway station. The development of the first Mercato Metropolitano was carefully planned to retain the site’s original appearance, which nurtured the local community’s affection for a special part of their urban history. Over a four-month period, we saw in excess of two million visitors and our customer spend was over €8 million. The concept evolved from this success, and we opened our first site in Elephant & Castle, London in 2016.

Our MMarketplace is where selected food suppliers and our trading partners connect with our visitors to breathe life into healthy living that helps local communities grow strong together. MM brings diverse food practices and ingredients from different countries, cultures and traditions into urban environments. We take a “Glocal” approach: global reach with a local focus. While you will find dishes from around the world in our marketplace, we encourage the use of locally-sourced, natural ingredients.
