ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with VENICE EVENTS and Ca’ Zanardi, is delighted to announce the brilliant result of Venice International Art Fair 2019 that took place in Venice at the Art Gallery THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space and at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi, curated by Arch. Luca Curci (founder and director of THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, ITSLIQUID Group and Luca Curci Architects).

Venice International Art Fair is a contemporary art fair that presents collective and solo projects by leading and emerging international artists. Founded in 2001 by ITSLIQUID Group, the 11th edition has represented a forum for direct exchange of ideas and contacts between collectors, artists, photographers, designers and art professionals. The art fair has featured paintings, sculptures, photography art, installations, video art and live performance.

Venice International Art Fair has provided artists and exhibitors with the unique opportunity to present their works to an international audience of professionals as curators, gallerists, collectors, editors and publishers who always seek to acquire, publish and encourage the best contemporary art talents.

The openings have been attended by many guests, art lovers and curators: an incredible success, where the live performances have created an enchanting atmosphere! The choreographers Kerrie Doyle & Harry Fulleylove let us live the suspense of a dream and explore our unconsciuosness, through the performance “The (mis)Interpretation of Dreams”. This self-exploration was connected also to Alia Montijo‘s performance “Return to source”, where the relationship between body and paint was based on principles of Quantum Specifically.

This mystic scenery has been enhanced by the talks of Heli Kaikkonen, designer of “Flowering Ocean”, and Marija Koneska, “To persist!” collage’s creator, at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, where they have spread their artistic streak and given a preview of their forthcoming art projects. A significative contribution has also been given by Azadeh Avije‘s “Pleasure Principle”, a photographies series in which she has illustrated how she perceives the world in its simplicity and complexity. THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space has represented also the fitting location for Paulien Huizinga‘s photos: “Ariadne – Goddess of Passion” and “Ate” have made a breathtaking effect on visitors. Some of the main representative artists in Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi have been Catarina Coelho, with her colourful paintings “The Artist’s Brain”, and the Synergy Group, five dynamic female artists who fight for promoting peace, understanding, cultural and religious tolerance in a multi-cultural world.

Venice International Art Fair 2019 analyzes the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary time, through two main sections: LIQUID ROOMS and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.

LIQUID ROOMS analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its own language and infinite ways of expression.

FUTURE LANDSCAPES are abstract, infinite and conceptual, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite extension. Primarily experienced with the mind, spaces redefining their limits and borders, transforming surfaces in open flow of pure ideas. This section focuses on the concept of the borders and the structures between body, mind and soul, the human identity and the city, the space and the ground.

BOCHNER BOETTI FONTANA

Art | September 23, 2020

Curated by Mel Bochner in collaboration with Magazzino Italian Art, This Special Exhibition Examines Parallel Artistic Movements in the 1960s and 1970s in the U.S. and Italy through the artwork of Bochner, Alighiero Boetti, and Lucio Fontana. Cold Spring, NY – August 24, 2020 – This fall, Magazzino Italian Art opens a special exhibition examining the formal, conceptual, and procedural affinities in the work of Mel Bochner, Alighiero Boetti, and Lucio Fontana. Curated by Bochner in collaboration with Magazzino, the exhibition marks the first presentation to consider the American artist’s extensive, yet overlooked, engagement with the practices of Fontana and Boetti, as well as with Italian art at large. Bochner Boetti Fontana offers, through the artist’s perspective, a number of resonances between his work and that of the Italian and Italian-Argentine artists: an exploration of systems, language, and materials; and a sense of irony and humor, often and especially shared by Arte Povera and Conceptualism, as all these works opened the work of art onto the space of display.
