FESSURA, a company founded in 1999 by the Vecchiola brothers, Andrea, Giorgio and Marco, immediately distinguished itself in the design, production and marketing of Fashion-tech footwear for the Modern Family. Fessura made its debut in 1999 with the “MUMMY” line, the first interchangeable shoe. A patented system, which allows the user to build his own shoe independently. The upper becomes interchangeable thanks to a system of elastic bands that enter the slots located in the sole. The wearer can work with creativity and personalize them by changing the color and style of the elastics as needed. MUMMY shoes is a true eco-friendly shoe as its assembly process skips most of the production processes used in the footwear industry.
Fessura is also a pioneer of “elastic sneakers“. The “SOCKS” launched in 2010 is the flagship line of the brand and was born from the idea of creating a product that is comfortable like a sock but stable like a shoe. The patented system of elastic bands combined with the easy-wear look offers a wide range of styles, from casual fashion, to athletic to urban street. The company has certainly started a trend that has now become Worldwide.
On the occasion of the 96th edition of Pitti Uomo, the new entry of the Fessura family, the “REFLEX”, was presented. It is a shoe capable of generating the reflexological foot massage, through a patented system of 4 pads inserted in the sole, made of XL EXTRALIGHT® (innovative and ultra-light material resulting from the research and creativity of the Finproject S.p.A laboratories). The pads actively stimulate four macro-areas of the foot: “Mind” or the highest area of the plant located under the toes, acts on the head and brain; “Body” immediately after the fingers, facilitates breathing; “Energy” in the arch of the foot, stimulates the vital functions of the body; “Reflex” the part of the heel, acts on posture and balances the walk. This Line is made with a recycled leather and a cork membrane that emphasizes the company’s attention to the use of Eco-friendly products.
In the last 3 years the company has grown at an annual rate of 40%, distributing in 40 different countries and over 500 points of sale including multi-brand boutiques, chains and department stores; then there are also 7 mono-brand stores in China and 1 Flagship Store in Italy.
