FreshforPandas
Natural Eyewear that doesn’t cost the earth.

In an industry dominated by a few large players, there are a few brands popping up with an alternative for the eco-fashion minded. One brand in particular on the rise, is FreshforPandas Eyewear – a London based  eyeglasses and sunglasses Specialist in affordable, style-led eyewear made from biodegradable and eco-friendly materials. FreshforPandas was born 3 years ago by new entrepreneurs, Andreea Stroie and JP Janvier. We both have a passion for eyewear; how an eyepiece can be part of a person’s style – not just a functional item to correct vision. In a world of smartphones, wearable technology and digital connectivity, FreshforPandas was created to bring two things to the eyewear industry; Eco-Friendly Ethos and Naturally Beautiful Eyewear. The brand we created is for those who care about eco-friendly principles, whilst not sacrificing good design and style when it comes to either their prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses.

FreshforPandas make stunning eyewear from wood, bamboo, buffalo horn and biodegradable acetate. All materials used are from sustainable sourced – the wood is from FSC stock, the buffalo horn are from traceable ethically sourced stock. Being predominantly a Direct to Consumer brand, FreshforPandas ensure deliveries are carbon neutral and that plastic use is minimised in our packaging. “A lot of our competitors wrap their products in plastic. The box, case and accessories all doused in single use plastic. We have moved away from this and our packaging is almost completely plastic free. Whilst we still have a long way to go, and see areas where we can improve, we have come a long way in the past 3 years to ensure our footprint is kept to a minimum. At the very least our customers rest assured that at least their eyewear is sustainable materials and its’ production has had minimum impact to the environment.”

Another notable aspect of FreshforPandas frames is they are extremely lightweight. This makes them perfect for daily wearers, as heavy eyewear puts pressure on nose and temples – which after time makes a difference.  They have also released a Blue Light Collection. Blue Light Blocking Glasses are designed for non-prescription customers who spend a lot of time in front of computer or mobile screens. VDU signals from electronic devices emit subtle blue light rays which are known to cause sleeplessness, head and eyestrain. FreshforPandas Blue Light Glasses block up to 5 times more blue light from these devices than normal glasses – giving immediate relief to this digital era issue. FreshforPandas new Summer 2020 Collection is definitely worth the browse. Using new manufacturing techniques and binding materials such as carbon fibre or mixing hardwoods such as Ebony and Walnut, enables thinner, stronger designs not readily available from other brands.
