Luca Curci
talks with Altaf Ali during VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2021 – 14TH EDITION, at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, and during THE BODY LANGUAGE 2022, at Palazzo Bembo – Venice Grand Canal.

Art for me is a voice to show the world how I live the life of colored symphony. Using a lot of colors, media and even imaginable items have been a passion of mine, to create more waves of sensational art forms touched and seen also heard all around me. My dreams translated through what I made. I love art and hopefully, that is enough to show others just how easy to do the things you love and make others love you back through it”.

Luca Curci – What’s your background?
Altaf Ali –
Since I was 3 years old, I have loved colors and created artwork using all kinds of colors. Furthermore, my parents were talented artists as well who continued encouraging me to do art, hence I never stopped since then. “Self-taught artist” is a good phrase to describe my education in art and perhaps living in Kuwait surrounded by talented artists most of my life had a great impact on me to further and develop my sense of expression through colors and media. Traveling and educating my eyes and expertise through visiting museums and art galleries is truly an unbiased way to convey what I’m today.

LC – What is the experience that has influenced your work the most?
AA –
Watercolors, still life, and nature influenced me at first; then I was amazed by Jonas Gerard’s painting in acrylics and Samar Al Badar’s abstract art which uses the same media that I’m using now. In short words, modern art and creative work that captures the unusual always attract me.

LC – How is your creative process?
AA –
No process, just create and refine until I’m happy with the results.

LC – How is being an artist nowadays?
AA –
Freedom to express, use knowledge easily accessed from different platforms, and easier to use mediums to create much more than in the past.
