Luca Curci
talks with Amelie Egenolf during CONTEMPORARY VENICE 2021 – 8TH EDITION, at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space.

“My name is Amelie Monira Egenolf. I grew up in south Germany in Asian gardens created by my family and lived in New Zealand, Mexico, Venezuela and Berlin. From a very young age I’m painting and every piece of art is coming from my heart. With colorful shining colors and various art techniques, I want to express my deepest spiritual feelings on the canvas. Some of my themes are buddhas, water scenes, wild animals, florals and abstract paintings with portraits. I love to express my foreign experiences from my travels in different ways and my own unique style. With my own spiritual focus in my work, I love to express with mixed media and create art with real and surreal elements. In my expressive paintings, I use acrylic and oil paints, oil pastels, different kinds of inks and markers, gold leaf and spray paint. Expressive bright colors dominate the overall picture. You see often strong women in my paintings who escape the social barriers of society and can make a difference.”

LUCA CURCI – What is art for you?
AMELIE EGENOLF
– Art for me is creating beauty, love and magic. It is communication with the World. I use art to show emotions and to change situations. It makes me happy and lets me shine and the best thing is I can make others happy too.

LC – What are you currently working on?
AE
– I work on some abstract paintings which I’m going to show in January in Madrid and I’m painting commissions for art collectors.

LC – Which is the role the artist plays in society?
AE
– The artist plays a huge role in society. An artist is a great opinion leader and gives hope for a better future and helps Society to overcome not-optimal situations.

LC – And contemporary art?
AE
– Contemporary Art has a huge role in Society. I bring magic and hope. And it connects people and countries and solves problems in society.

LC – Where do you find your inspiration?
AE
– In my travels, in my family, in society and nature.

LC – Do you use art to express something in particular? Is it your medium of expression?
AE
– Yes art is my medium of expression. I want to express my deep love for nature and the universe. My spiritualism is beautiful and I just create with colors what comes to my heart.

LC – What do you think about the concept of this exhibition? How did it inspire you?
AE
– The concept of Future Landscape is beautiful. The deep connection between the human mind, Soul, nature and the Universe I try to express in my paintings a lot.

LC – What is the message linked to the artwork you have shown in this exhibition? How is it connected to the theme of the entire exhibition?
AE
– The title of my artwork which is exhibited in Venice is Valley Dream and it is a young lady who transformed into nature. I want to show with my painting that the human being is part of nature and if he treats nature with love and respect he will have a clean and beautiful surrounding. I traveled to Lago Maggiore recently and I crossed the beautiful valley of San Bernardino and this is what you see on the left side of the Lady. The nature there is so fresh and green and beautiful. I love nature and being part of it. I feel that our soul is one with nature and that there is a strong connection with our nature on a spiritual basis. Plants are alive and love our admiration and care. We are responsible that our planet stays healthy and clean! The future landscape will be endless beautiful!

LC – What is your idea about ITSLIQUID GROUP?
AE
– ITSLIQUID GROUP helps artists to show their art in beautiful exhibitions in great locations and gives the inspiration to paint more and gives possibilities to show more art. Thank you for your invitation to show my art in Venice. It is a great honor for me!

LC – What are your suggestions about our services? Is there something more we can provide to artists?
AE
– The only thing is, that it would be great to have the exhibition open on weekends. I could not attend and travel there personally, as I could only come on weekends.

LC – Did you enjoy cooperating with us?
AE
– Yes I had a great comm with Giulia Tassi and thank you for everything you do!
