talks with Ana Paula Avila during CONTEMPORARY VENICE 2021 – THE SECRET GARDEN, at Misericordia Archives.

“I am a Mexican photographer born in 1973 and I have always been passionate about photography. I was educated in various spaces. I studied in Urquiza Photographers Studio 2010-2015. I have participated in many photo workshops in Mexico city, where I live, with different recognized photographers and I have also taken many photo workshops around the world: in Mexico, Bolivia, India, Peru, USA , Japan, Alaska and soon Iceland. In my pictures I show Mexico and other parts of the world where I have been. With my nomad sensibility I propose a personal vision of my vivid experiences. I like to take landscape photography especially mystic and mysterious ones but also abstract , nature and urban photography.”

Luca Curci – What is art for you?
Ana Paula Avila –
For me art is a way of expressing myself. Being a photographer is a duty and a pleasure at the same time. It is a pleasure because I take pictures of landscapes, nature, people, that catch my eye and by capturing them with my camera I make them eternal for me and for everyone.

LC – Where do you find your inspiration?
APA
– I find my inspiration in all my travels throughout the world and the vivid experiences I have had and lived.

LC – How is being an artist nowadays?
ANA –
Being an artist nowadays is being a reporter of reality, and a great responsibility towards society to document and photograph it, in my case, as a photographer.

LC – Did your style change over the years? In which way?
APA –
My style has changed over the years because I have gained more experience with all the photo workshops I have participated in, defining me more. I like to photograph landscapes, nature and urban photography.

LC – Do you think ITSLIQUID GROUP can represent an opportunity for artists?
APA –
I think that the concept of the gallery is really inspiring and it is a perfect platform for artists like me to get to know us and our work. It is a great opportunity for all artists.

LC – Did you enjoy cooperating with us?
APA –
I really enjoy cooperating with you. It is a great platform and very complete.
