Interview: Chris Aboutar
Luca Curci
talks with Chris Aboutar, during VISIONS, third appointment of CANVAS INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2023, and HYBRID IDENTITIES, first appointment of BORDERS ART FAIR 2023, held in Venice, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello.

Born and raised in Egypt, Chris Aboutar started her artistic journey in 2010, the desire to create art soon became an unyielding obligation to herself to explore the inner mechanism of her creative consciousness. From small sketches to large-scale projects, Aboutar’s art is a highly-personal reflection of herself. Chris has been lucky enough to have participated in many collaborative projects, as well as exhibited in a solo capacity, which has solidified her reputation in the art world.

LC – Is there an unrealised or unrealisable project, even a crazy one, that you would like to work on?
CA –
I wish to work on a huge canvas and continue its story through lights.

LC – Do you agree with our vision of art and what do you think about the theme of the exhibition?
CA –
I love your concept and all kinds of art you offer.

LC – In which way the artwork presented in our exhibition is connected with the exhibition’s theme?
CA –
I presented my artwork in visions and hybrid identities and my artwork presents the hardworking Egyptian woman proud of her sexuality, in a way that could be prohibited in her culture

LC – Did you enjoy cooperating with us?
CA –
I enjoyed cooperating with you.
