Interview: Francisco Bellido
Luca Curci
talks with Francisco Bellido during MIXING IDENTITIES, second appointment of CANVAS INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2023, held in Venice, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello.

“Since I don’t know how to draw or paint artistically, I take photographs and currently I create photo compositions, videos-art and clippings of photos. My projects respond to an ideal, a point of view or a personal feeling related to nature, humanity, architecture and the floating time, sometimes referring to Art, an inexhaustible source of discoveries, reflections and influences”.

Luca Curci – What are you currently working on?
Francisco Bellido –
I’m working on projects that revolve around themes like nature, humanity, architecture, and the passage of time. These projects often draw inspiration from various forms of art, which serve as an endless source of discoveries, reflections, and influences.

LC – Is there an unrealised or unrealisable project, even a crazy one, that you would like to work on?
FB –
Certainly, there are such projects, but they require profound contemplation.

LC – In which way the artwork presented in our exhibition is connected with the exhibition’s theme?
FB –
The artwork I presented in the exhibition explores the concept of mixing expressions of the human face. It touches on themes such as the exceptional city of Venice facing danger from bad mixes, the mixing of human colours, cultures, and rights that are not yet fully allowed, the blending of natural cycles, the timelessness of expressions in the mix of times, the great masters with the diversity of their works and influences, the human being and their interaction with the environment, and the mix of wisdom, serenity, benevolence, and reflection. It represents the mingling identities and experiences of life.

LC – Can you explain something about the artworks you have in our exhibition?
FB –
The artworks in the exhibition are a blend of humour and love for artists and their creations, portraying a mix of emotions and creative expressions.
