Interview: Gitta Goletz
Luca Curci talks with Gitta Goletz during CONSCIOUSNESS and VISIONS, second and third appointment of the ANIMA MUNDI 2022 art fair, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello and at Palazzo Bembo.
Born in Essen and current center of life in Würzburg. Artistic training at international art seminars since 1998. Portrait/life drawing. Colorful abstraction expressiveness of the colors. Painting to great lyricism. Analysis of painterly processes. Comic art.
Luca Curci – What topic are you working on?
Gitta Goletz – In nature and transience, the fast pace of time and the search to find peace, the beautiful moments and wonders of this world. I paint my soul, poetically and sensitively and live in and with my painting. I capture moments and experiences with the brush and let my imagination and humor play.
LC – How did you come to your current artistic practice?
GG – Painting was born to me and through personal circumstances it became my blood supply. So I continued my education at international art seminars to refine my expressiveness.
LC – What thoughts do you have while painting?
GG – For me, life is fragile and stressful enough because of my handicap, so that I want to bring my joie de vivre to canvas or paper as an anchor for myself and put the viewer in a positive mood.
LC – Do you have any habits or rituals at work?
GG – I need stillness to connect with the colors and the canvas and I put my benevolent thoughts into the project and choose upbeat music during the painting process.
LC – Do the suggestions of the visitors enrich you and your art?
GG – Yes, very much, in the exchange with the viewer I experience other perspectives and I find positive, constructive criticism beneficial in all areas of life.
LC – Has your style changed over the years? In which way?
GG – Over the years I have been exposed to various influences, which of course supported my willingness to experiment. The search for one’s own style was the subject of various seminars. The technique has changed somewhat, but the style of my expression, my feeling, has only become more refined. As already mentioned, I was influenced by various art seminars that taught different methods of painting and viewing. Nevertheless, my own style was always recognizable.
LC – What art themes do you pursue?
GG – I’m not committed to that. I’m multifaceted. I like the aesthetics in painting just as much as in sculpture and handicrafts or architecture. And especially the comic art.
LC – What is your favorite subject, if there is one?
GG – The visual arts attract me the most, although I am also drawn to music and the performing arts such as film and theatre. But my great love is painting and my caricatures. I like to make up stories, tell personal stories with a personal hidden sense of humour.
LC – What do you think about the concept of this exhibition?
GG – First of all, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in this exhibition. It is certainly a good concept to offer so many artists a platform to present themselves in an extraordinary ambience and to make connections. As ANIMA MUNDI is introduced by you, not only the human soul is connected to the human body. I agree with you in your idea of the concept.
LC – Do you agree with our vision of art and what do you think about the theme of the exhibition?
GG – The issue of awareness is essential for me. Art – and not only this – should deepen the consciousness of every artist and viewer and support the soul of the world in its values. There is a universe in every nutshell, as Stephan Hawkins already conveyed in his book with the title alone.
LC – Do you think that ITSLIQUID Group can represent an opportunity for artists?
GG – Yes, I am convinced.
LC – What do you think of the ITSLIQUID platform?
GG – As already mentioned, I see the ITSLIQUID platform as an opportunity for every interested artist to stand out from the diversity, to be present and to be able to make further contacts if they are interested.
