Luca Curci – What is art for you?
He Liu – As a visual artist, art is the tool I rely on for my livelihood. It is both my profession and my passion. As an art enthusiast, art serves as a window through which I express my emotions, channel my creativity, and experience the world and life itself.

LC – Which artists have somehow influenced your work?
HL – One of the artists who has greatly influenced my work is Chen Youjian, a renowned visual artist and designer from China. He has a deep love for traditional Chinese culture, but his dedication and pride in his cultural heritage have not confined him to the traditional. Instead, he has masterfully blended Eastern and Western cultural elements in his design philosophy. This approach has deeply inspired me. I strive to create commercially valuable works while maintaining my unique style. Through my designs, I hope to present a new and distinct perspective on Eastern aesthetics to the world.

LC – Where do you find your inspiration?
HL – The internet is currently the most convenient source of inspiration for me. Beyond that, I seek inspiration from various forms of artistic expression, such as music, dance, film, and literature. I also love to travel, as cultural exchanges often spark unique creative ideas. Connecting with nature is another great way for me to find inspiration.

LC – How did you get into photography? Do you remember why you took your first professional photo?
HL – I took my first professional photo while studying at university. As a visual artist, photography is an essential course for developing a strong sense of aesthetics.

Depending on the needs of each project, I selectively incorporate the local artistic aesthetics to create works that resonate more with the local market.
