Interview: Inna Ligum
Luca Curci
talks with Inna Ligum and Olena Kolomoiets during the 10th Edition of CONTEMPORARY VENICE 2022, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello.

Inna Ligum was born in Ukraine and followed her crazy dream to Germany and became a singer. She studied literature and music in Ukraine and Germany and was always passionate about art. After becoming a singer, she realized that she wanted to combine music and art and founded a new direction in art, the “Art-Facts“.

“I create my work from a feeling and sense of the world that comes to me in a dream or arises from contact with a person or event in the world. My paintings and songs are a mirror for people and the world to look into to see their best and worst, brilliant, divine aspects of themselves that will allow them to be their true selves. The tools of art and music allow me to open again and again new windows to reality. I can’t stop doing this. This is my mission in this life. To show the true nature of the world and people is the main purpose of my art”.

Luca Curci – What is art for you?
Inna Ligum –
This is my way to communicate with the world, people and universe through my true inner self.

LC – How did you get to your current artistic practice?
IL –
Death of my family members. Spiritual Enlightenment. My whole life as a singer. The lifelong watching, reading, listening and breathing art. Months of maniac daily painting got me where I am now. Creating art, music, and ideas and combining all this into ART-FACTs. I have formulated the formula of Art-Fact: “The beauty occurs when the energy meets the information, creating a moment of truth”. Art-Facts are a new form of art and human interaction, creating this moment in the reality, in which art, music, creators and viewers are information, and I am the energy that transforms this experience into awareness of the moment of truth and the true nature of each individual person interacting with Art-Fact.

LC – How do you feel when you see your work completed?
IL –
I feel like our Universe is the right place to be.

LC – What is the most challenging part about creating your artworks?
IL –
To stop.

LC – Which art themes do you pursue? What is your preferred subject, if there is any?
IL –
My main theme in art and music is the true nature of the world, things and people. The true essence of human beings is fascinating to me.

LC – What is the message linked to the artwork you have shown in this event? How is it connected to the theme of the entire exhibition?
IL –
The Second (hidden) Face of every human being could be dark and scary, but only if we embrace and accept it, we become what we really are. Our bodies united both sides of our personalities. Actually, it’s the perfect gear to live. It has every answer to every question.

LC – We were attracted by your last artistic production, has the artwork presented been created for the exhibition or as a part of preexisting works?
IL –
No, it’s the first part of the existing Project “Art-Facts”.

LC – Can you explain something about the artworks you have in our exhibition?
IL –
Art, especially contemporary art, makes it possible to see behind the facade of reality. To sense not only the images, the stories, the ideas, but the real thing. The ideas of my songs became a multimedia project “Art-Facts”. The song “My Second Face” – to the first ART-FAСT, new Art form. To create the ART-FACT is to pierce through the way to all senses of the people. The Art-Fact “Second Face” Event-Moment occurs as a special harmony that gives meaning to our existence as a species, creative, thinking species that can transform itself and the world. To conceive this beauty in others and to perceive it in oneself, one must recognize one’s true self. The “Second Face” with which we hide, protect and keep secret our true self is the key to this.

LC – Do you think ITSLIQUID GROUP can represent an opportunity for artists?
IL –
Absolutely! To be part of the “Contemporary Venice” exhibition was an honour, inspiration and an important step in my artistic career.

LC – Did you enjoy cooperating with us?
IL –
I enjoyed it very much in communication via mail and even more at the exhibition in Venice.
