Luca Curci talks with Jaqueline Bislimi during CONSCIOUSNESS, second appointment of ANIMA MUNDI 2024 which took place in Venice, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello.

Luca Curci: What is Art for you?
Jacqueline Bislimi:
For me Art is an outlet. A way to expressing intimate emotions, of relieving one’s conscience. Art is therapeutic, it’s giving form to an idea, a feeling. Art is everywhere .

LC: What are you currently working on?
JB:
I have just finished 2 paintings on the theme of fragile peace which can turn into an apocalypse. This is what has been resonating with me lately.

LC: Where do you find your inspiration?
JB:
I draw inspiration from my feelings, my experiences, my encounters. At a time when I am touched by grace in my tortured mind. I archive in my subconscious. I make a synthesis of it and I try to transcribe. It’s an introspection of my imagination.

LC: Are your artworks focused on a specific theme?
JB:
For the moment my favorite theme is women, their inexhaustible source of inspiration. As a woman
I have a lot to express. We are living in another era, codes are being shaken up and even in traditional cultures protocols have changed.

LC: How is being an artist nowadays?
JB
: Today being an artist is a sacrifice for itself, It’s about knowing a certain maturity and starting out when you feel accomplished, being able to detach yourself from these creations. As an emerging artist, social networks are a chance for free exhibition. There are also virtual exhibitions where you can present your art on the other side of the planet without leaving your workshop.

LC: Your last artistic production attracted us, has the artwork presented been created for the exhibition?
JB:
I thank you, this means that my works gave you emotions. I created this series for another exhibition at the beginning of the year. I ended this series with a painting that connects a different cycle.

LC: Do you agree with our vision and what do you think about our service?
JB:
This exhibition demonstrated a wide artistic panel. This brought insight into the scope of art which brings together several disciplines. Art is everywhere, the theme is universal and conceptual. What I want to demonstrate in my series of paintings: is the influence of Albanian culture on the evolution of women and the weight of ancestral traditions.

LC: Would you suggest a collaboration with us?
JB:
I would love to collaborate with It’s Liquid Group. I’m at the beginning of my artistic career, this would be a real opportunity to improve and diversify. I have other facets, before being a paintress I worked in fashion design. Its liquid group offers a showcase for artists, it’s a real advantage. The artist is really highlighted and that’s incredible and the backstage team takes care of everything, it’s great.
