Interview: KaiZer Ioannis Kaiserlis
Luca Curci talks with KaiZer Ioannis Kaiserlis during FUTURE LANDSCAPES, third appointment of BORDERS ART FAIR, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello.

“The ecological consciousness of the artist is occupied by various extensions, with the primary one being the religious one. Kaiserlis, on the one hand, is sad and mourns for the daily deterioration of nature, and on the other hand, he is subconsciously constantly seeking the meanings of “Divine Providence”, or in other words, that plan of the Creator who (will) direct all earthly activities, so that the universal balance is not disturbed forever. After all, the religious ideal follows the inspiration of the artist, sometimes openly, and sometimes secretly, covertly, to a point that is only implied if the viewers-readers themselves have similar experiences and cultural perceptions.”

Luca Curci – What is art for you?
KaiZer Ioannis Kaiserlis – Contemporary, for me, is a means of expressing my inner thoughts, feelings and the freedom I feel in the creative process. It represents my true self and every piece of art I create in its sphere becomes part of my soul. Through the exploration of Art, I delve into the complexity of modern life and try to create a dynamic and expressive visual language. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources including pop culture, street art and contemporary design, I aim to bridge the gap between traditional and innovative approaches, challenging art lovers to perceive the world in new and exciting ways…

LC – What issues do you intend to deal with in the future?
KIK – In the future, I plan to delve into topics related to the complexities of modern life, human emotions, and the connections between individuals and their environment. I am also interested in exploring the potential of art as a means to promote environmental awareness and social consciousness, using my artistic voice to contribute to positive change…

LC – What are the three hashtags essential to define your poetics that you could not give up?
KIK – #ContemporaryPainting&Sculpture #ColorExploration #ExpressiveAbstraction

LC – Is there an unrealised or unrealisable project, even a crazy one, that you would like to work on?
KIK – As an artist, I always welcome new challenges and possibilities. One of my craziest dreams came to life in the 6th – 8th month of my experimental self-taught development, when I collaborated with the esteemed art curator and Art teacher, Mrs. Vasiliki Paraskevopoulou, to create the Triptych “The Wave of Venetian Life”. The process of making the second piece was particularly trans-formative as I knew within myself that this work had the potential to be something extraordinary… With relentless dedication and numerous color changes and schematic compositions, I put my soul into the creation, and I want the dream of showing “The Wave of Venetian Life” in Venice to come true. My ultimate ambition is to have this work of art critically examined by the most rigorous scholarly eye of History and Art, allowing its fate to be determined by the honorable world of culture in Venice and Italy…Beyond the dream, I am constantly open to exploring unconventional and ambitious ideas that push the boundaries of my creativity and artistic expression. An artist’s journey is one of perpetual growth and discovery, and I look forward to continuing to dream with the same artistic madness…

LC – What do you think about the concept of this exhibition? How did it inspire you?
KIK – The concept of “Borders Art Fair 2023 – Future Landscapes” is enchanting and full of inspiration. The idea of creating future landscapes without mental and physical borders, where human beings are completely free, resonates deeply with me. It fits with my artistic exploration of modern life and constant search for expression through dynamic compositions and vibrant colors. This idea encourages me to think and reflect deeply on the relationship between humanity and the natural world and how it can be conveyed visually through art…

LC – What is the message linked to the artwork you have shown in this event? How is it connected to the theme of the entire exhibition?
KIK – The artwork I showed at this event is a visual representation of the conflict between inconsistency and the establishment of harmony. It explores the play of colors and the dynamic interaction between different elements. Through this painting, I aim to evoke emotions and encourage viewers to look beyond the surface, delving into their own inner battles and repressed thoughts. The artwork connects to the theme of the exhibition by embracing the idea of borderless future landscapes, allowing viewers to interpret the work subjectively and discover their personal connections to the world around them…

The opportunities they offered me, such as participation in important events in Italy and the possibility of holding a solo exhibition in major art cities such as London, Rome and Venice are a great honor and oblige me to continue experimenting, to develop with the same intensity passion…Their direct responsiveness and valuable material they provide regarding the details of their exhibitions have been instrumental in facilitating my artistic journey. Their dedication to promoting artists and creating cultural exchanges is truly commendable. Working with ITSLIQUID GROUP has not only allowed me to showcase my art to a diverse and engaged audience but also to connect with fellow artists, art lovers and professionals in the art world… I am very grateful for the services they provided me, which allowed me to reach new heights in my artistic career. KIK – The ITSLIQUID platform is a dynamic and innovative force in the art world. It is a vibrant community that supports, elevates and showcases artists from around the world. What really stands out is ITSLIQUID’s commitment to encouraging cultural exchange and promoting artists at various stages of their careers… The platform website is a treasure trove of opportunities. It acts as a comprehensive resource hub, offering a wealth of information on upcoming events, exhibitions and calls for participation. Browsing the site, I gained access to a wide range of art-related content, including articles, interviews and features that provide insight into current trends and developments in the art world… ITSLIQUID’s collaborative approach, evident in its partnerships with notable organizations and institutions, further underscores its influence and credibility in the arts community.
