Luca Curci talks with María Echeverri during LONDON CONTEMPORARY International Art Fair at THE Line Contemporary Art Space
2nd place awarded “Premio Lorenzo I’ll Magnifico” by Florence Biennale in Jewellery Art Category, featured at the spring edition of “British Vogue”, Maria Echeverri is a jewellery artist and designer who uses different metals and experimental techniques to design and produce “wearable art” for the body. Selected as one of the top Contemporary Artist in the “Gold List” of “Art Market Magazine”, she exhibited at Milan Fashion week (2018) and London fashion week (2019). From 2019, her jewellery pieces can be found at DREEMS (luxury concept store) in Soho, NYC, and in her first contemporary jewellery store in Honduras. Accredited Jewellery professional by GIA, her education includes numerous courses and degree in jewellery designer in Argentina, NY, Colombia and Italy.

Luca Curci – What is art for you?
María Echeverri – Art is way how we can create and express our feelings, mind, situation and transmit to the world.
LC – What are you currently working on?
ME – Exhibiting the new collection Bloom of Life at Florence Biennale. (We all can bloom in our way despiste marks of life).
LC – Do visitors’ suggestions enrich yourself and your art?
ME – Yes, always!!
LC – Did your style change over the years? In which way?
ME – Yes, I think I grown creative and professional way but still having the own essence.
LC – Which art themes do you pursue? What is your preferred subject, if there is any?
ME – I’m jewellery artist and design, my favorite is the mask and the crown that can be a necklace. Or when the piece is framed and you can observe like a piece of art and convert in wearable art. The themes I always used is my personal experiences of life.

LC – In which way the artwork presented in our exhibition is connected with the festival’s theme?
ME – London Contemporary is the best because we can see everything for different points of view.
LC – What do you think about the concept of this festival? In which way did it inspire you?
ME – Contemporary to make something different. Unusual.
LC – What do you think about ITSLIQUID Platform?
ME – Is pretty amazing because you can see art from different part of the world and observe the differential views and cultures.
LC – What do you think about the organization of our event?
ME – It’s my first time participating and I like the respect for the artist and the piece. And was easy to organize.
LC – What is your idea about ITSLIQUID GROUP?
ME – That is an international art gallery.
