Interview: Ramòn Ravè
Luca Curci talks with Ramòn Ravè during BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2021, 1st Edition, at Valid World Hall Gallery.
Ramòn Ravè is an architect and a contemporary Mexican sculptor, whose work is based on the study of the essence of man expressed through several techniques, thus creating new perspectives and questions. Textures, colours, materials, and scales materialize his work which plays with light, time, and space.

Luca Curci – What is art for you?
Ramòn Ravè – Art is the medium I use to express my feelings I am unsure how to express with words or actions.
LC – What’s your background? What is the experience that has influenced your work the most?
RR – I am a Mexican architect, born in Mexico City and now living in London. And the experience that has influenced my work is a series of experiences, not one in particular, and this might be my alone meditations sessions.

LC – Where do you find your inspiration?
RR – In my daily life analysis of human behaviour, my lectures, and nature.
LC – How is being an artist nowadays?
RR – Fun, uncertain, and exciting.
LC – Did your style change over the years? In which way?
RR – I’m not sure I can state that I have developed a style jet since I have been sculpting for less than 2 years, I am still in the development of a proper style, so I consider my artwork may have some inconsistencies in the style because I am still developing one.

LC – What do you think about the concept of this festival? How did it inspire you?
RR – I like the concept and think it gives the base where we can aborad it from many angles.
LC – Do you think ITSLIQUID GROUP can represent an opportunity for artists?
RR – Yes, but I think it should be a little more accessible for artists that are not based in Europe.
LC – Did you enjoy cooperating with us?
RR – Yes, a lot!
