Interview: Aaron Cristofaro
Luca Curci talks with Aaron Cristofaro during THE BODY LANGUAGE 2020 at Palazzo Ca’ Zanardi.
I’m Aaron Cristofaro and I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1975. I can describe my artwork as including portraits, landscapes, still life’s, botanicals, seascapes cityscapes. I started drawing landscapes and then I moved on into Drawing portraits and painting landscapes and portraits. I guess when I feel success in one area of art I want to try other areas also. I previously won two art competitions from the Drawing Academy and one from The Old Masters Academy. I was recently in a new Old Masters Academy art competition and was awarded a new art course for participating. I enjoy drawing and painting through the day. I am teaching myself how to draw and paint portraits in oil using Classical Drawing and painting methods. I just graduated the old Masters.academy and received my certificate of excellence on October 9, 2019. I am also learning new watercolor painting techniques. I’m currently represented by Agora Gallery.

Luca Curci – What is art for you?
Aaron Cristofaro – Art for me is a way a life in which I can express myself and capture moments as they currently are or ones that I imagined. There is more than I can say about what art is for me.
LC – Do visitors suggestions enrich yourself and your art?
AC – I do think my visitors suggestions enrich my art not only to provide criticism also to push me to be a better artist.
LC – Did your style changed over the years?
AC – I think my style has definitely changed over the years from being more modern in the past to evolving into a classically trainee artist.

LC – What do you think about the concept of this festival? In which way did it inspire you?
AC – I think the concept of the festival was a good idea: it involved a historical aspect as well as modern. The Venice festival inspired me to have a greater appreciation for the history of Venice, Italy, and to learn more about the influence of Venetian art a style of art the I am learning.
LC – Do you agree with our vision of art and what do you think about the theme of the festival?
AC – I do agree with your concept of art and I thought the theme of the festival was both historical and modern.
