The Outsider
Unusual outsider. Silent witness. Robust charm. Impressive aura. Illuminating element.

The outsider is an imposing lamp for indoor and outdoor use; an intriguing object that combines decorative simplicity with a hefty dose of robust charm.
The pedestal and the arched frame are made of powder-coated steel and the shade is made of cast aluminium. The large window, made of clear glass, endows The Outsider with an illumination pattern that delights the eye. This exclusive lamp is available in black, white and aluminium blank and has a pedestal with bolt apertures for attachment to a hard base such as stone or concrete. Another version is available that can be embedded in cast concrete. The standing lamp is joined by a hanging lamp, an adjustable hanging lamp and a wall lamp.

Paraaf
Graceful, clean lines. Striking creation. Modern retro. Folded tension. Authentic ornament.

The paraaf collection was created in 1998 and can be described as smooth and graceful. The collection consists of decorative light features in the form of retro lamps that are expressed in a contemporary idiom. The models are made of stainless steel. Each lamp is constructed in one dimension from a single strip of curved steel strip and pleated like a mediaeval collar. The tension in the material enhances the interesting appearance of the light feature. The paraaf collection by Jacco Maris Design  is only available as a chandelier.

Idée Fixe
An idiosyncratic composition. Ars poetica. Soft play of shadows. Decorative reflection. New discoveries.

Idée Fixe is a tribute to the poetic ethos but it is also a stainless steel light feature that, when looked at more closely, is different to its first impression. This is because this decorative hanging lamp, thanks to its separate, removable stand, intriguingly suggests that it is a standing lamp. Its form and the choice of materials create a gentle interplay of shadows. Idée Fixe is available in a gold, high gloss polished stainless steel and white version. The traditional floor element is matte black or white.

Jacco Maris Design
Making something from nothing and creating optimum designs from minimal amounts of materials. This is the inspiring basic concept that underlies the creation, since 1994, of the exceptional light features of Jacco Maris. These are unique objects that combine powerful and exciting looks with graceful harmony and subtle elegance. Each item is individually handcrafted and skilfully produced at our own studio in Breda, the Netherlands.
