JAQET

JAQET was established in 2012 by American car designer Jacques Flynn with a commitment to offering the sophisticated men of the world a slim, tailored, 100% handmade wallet that will stand the test of time. Inspired by all things stylish ranging from the early cowboy aesthetic to modern fashion, the JAQET brand embodies a true sense of authentic handmade style. All JAQET products are 100% handmade in California. The dyeing, the cutting, the stitching, and finally the branding of the JAQET logo in the leather are all done in house. Every leather product will have its own unique qualities, making no two JAQET pieces exactly alike. JAQET products come with their own specific gift box and a hand signed authentication card by Jacques.

Jacques Flynn was born in Paris, France but along with his family, moved to the United States when he was 3 years old. Always showing an interest in both automobiles and design, it was only natural that Jacques attend the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California when he was 21 years old for a degree in transportation design. Upon graduation, Jacques accepted a full time position at Mazda’s Los Angeles based design studio where he still currently works. During his time at Mazda, Jacques has developed many exterior design proposals for both production and advanced design programs.

He was the lead designer on the team that won the 2008 Los Angeles Design Challenge with the Mazda Kaan, as well as the lead designer on the 2011 MX5 Spyder Concept shown at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Jacques started JAQET in 2012 after looking for what he considered the perfect wallet and coming up with essentially no options. Always open to new design disciplines, Jacques decided to learn about leather,  leather working, and leather goods construction. Jacques produced samples himself and distributed them among friends. Soon, requests were coming in for more wallets and the brand JAQET was born. The JAQET brand was launched with three products available in four exclusive colors. Today, only nine months afer launch, JAQET has expanded to offering seven products with plans to launch at least two more in 2013.
