Life beyond Alopecia:
Kodes are handmade jewellery and accessories made in London by Morena Fiore. Originally from Bari, Morena moved to London in 2003 to start a new life in the UK – Morena has been affected by Alopecia (an illness that causes your hair to fall) since she was 12 years old and, after suffering many years of bullying because of her condition, she left Italy in search of a more inclusive and diverse lifestyle in London. In 2015 she started creating unique jewellery pieces, initially painting wood, then moving to materials like silicone and acrylic because of their lightweight, to create statement pieces which are still light to wear.

Art Deco inspiration:
A lot of Kodes designs pay tribute to the era of Art Deco, beautifully merging its timeless elegance with modern sensibilities. Art Deco design features like the ziggurat, and sunburst are heavily present in Kodes’ designs. The “Green Fountain Acrylic Earrings” perfectly exemplify this, masterfully crafted from mirror acrylic and a half-moon hammer-finished brass piece on a gold vermeil hook, they depict the sweeping curves of Art Deco fountains. Embodying the opulence of the Art Deco period, the “Chrysler Building Crest Bib Crescent Necklace” depicts the outline of the Chrysler Building, which is etched into acrylic and then hand painted. This piece, dangling from a 24kt gold-plated brass chain, promises a luxurious touch to any outfit. It’s a nod to architecture while still being a stylish and elegant piece.
