OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES: LACDA 2013 INTERNATIONAL JURIED COMPETITION
The winner of this competition will exhibit in the main gallery at our 4,000 square foot location!

Rex Bruce, Artist, Curator, Director: L.A. Center for Digital Art

Enter our juried competition for digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. The competition is international, open to all geographical locations.

Registration fee is $30US (three images).
Multiple entries permitted, additional $30 entry fee for each three images.

The selected winner receives 10 prints up to 44×60 inches on canvas or museum quality paper (approximately a $2,500-$3,000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition in our main gallery May 9-June 1, 2013. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artist.

Second place prizes: ten second place winners will receive one print of their work up to 24×36 inches ($150-$200 in value) to be included in upcoming group exhibits. The ten second place winners will be scheduled into group shows within twelve months of announcement of winners. Consideration is given to placing these works in shows appropriate to their style, genre and/or content. These shows will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artists.

Special consideration will be given to all entrants for inclusion in future shows at LACDA. Many entrants from past competitions have already been included in our exhibits.

Deadline for entries: April 22, 2013
Winners Announced: April 29, 2013
Exhibit Dates: May 9-June 1, 2013
Artist’s Reception: May 9, 7-9pm

Notification: all entrants will be notified of winners by email. No phone calls, please.

File transfer for printing: winners will be asked to overnight or express post high resolution files to the gallery for printing. Transfer via FTP or email acceptable and preferred.

Sales of Artwork: all artwork may be offered for sale. Gallery retains 50% of all sales. Winners retain ownership of all unsold works. All artwork remains the intellectual property of the winner. Winner agrees to allow use of their images for promotional purposes only.

Gallery Information: Los Angeles Center For Digital Art is dedicated to the propagation of all forms of digital art, supporting local, international, emerging and established artists. We have an ongoing schedule of exhibits and competitions, and produce editions of wide format archival prints.

"I prefer to work with natural, familiar material such as stone and metal to create my own work, and I depends on create forms using details abstract and simple to focus on the beauty of shape, I chose animals shape and abstract it, cause it have more vitality and ability to make different movement, and trying to make a dialogue between shapes in some work, but now I am trying to focus on the idea of beginning and how to find away from it till you find your own way (when I look at my work and checked it I feel like it’s all talking about the beginning when everything started – all we trying to do will be better if we found our real start).
