Les Fantome Palette
Designer & Founder: Kwasi Nkansa
Les Fantome Palette is a Los Angeles-based luxury streetwear brand. The name is loosely translated from the phrase “the ghost palette.” LFP is my expression of a tangled union of decorated nostalgia and youthful rebellion. The artwork is a combination of spectral imagery and contrasting color schemes.

Initially, I had no intention to design. I had a great appreciation for art, but science was my first interest. I went to school for years, studying rehab medicine. I specialize in physical and cognitive health but began as a chemistry researcher at L’Oreal. I’ve always been attracted to high fashion and the process it takes to create those garments I coveted. The textures, imagination, quality, and effort it takes to construct those pieces. Then, there’s the courage it takes as an individual to pull off that unique ensemble.

The artwork you see is made during dark episodes of emotion and doubt in my life. I infuse my affinity for vibrant palettes, color chemistry, science, and the sensation of different textures. The textures and colors specifically, help to complement the dark moods that go into garments. In part, to appeal to your senses and personal evolution of style.

If it’s too perfect, then I’ll alter it because that brings it closer to reality. Masking to cover what’s inside is common in addressing mental health with clients that I encounter. Pieces like the “Idols” tee or “Gracieux” trench contribute to LFP’s steady theme of the unorthodox design. I generate these pieces when emotions are at their peak. From there, I usually just release my fragmented concepts onto the raw canvas. References to classic Americana, along with metal moods and historical flashpoints are also themes you may notice with LFP.

We launched in 2021, expanding operations to Milan and Paris. Our next collection will be released in the next two months. It will feature even more handmade shirts, bottoms, accessories, and outerwear. We also have quite a bit of content we’re working on as well. Continuing to cultivate a global culture around LFP is key. In the meantime, you can shop our current collection at our website, or keep up with the latest information on our Instagram page.
