It’s LIQUID Group media partnership with Contemporary Istanbul

It’s LIQUID Group is proud to announce its media partnership with Contemporary Istanbul and Plugin New Media Section. The fair attracts more than 50 thousand people every year. In its second year, Plugin is the largest new media event in Turkey and has invited International ArtExpo to curate dedicated video screenings.

Contemporary Istanbul will take place from the 13 to the 16 of November at Istanbul Congress Center (ICC) and Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC). The leading international art fair in Turkey brings both local and international focus to the dynamic art scene in Turkey’s vibrant metropolis every November.

Contemporary Istanbul features the best in contemporary art in Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle East. It is a rendezvous not to be missed, offering opportunities not just to discover the extraordinary city of Istanbul and its young, vibrant art scene, but to consider the future of contemporary art. With 108 galleries and 520 artists from 23 countries the fair also proudly includes a unique “Plugin New Media Section” that explores the latest, most avant-garde developments in the contemporary art scene worldwide.

Plugin New Media Section, will be hosted in a 1000 square meters area next to the main exhibition space. This year a special emphasis is being given to sound, the medium which is becoming popular by the day.

Most importantly, it has a very large scope, which sets it apart from other fairs of its kind. It focuses not only on video art, but on presenting as many examples as possible of the wide array of genres that make up the digital art and design scene: sound and light installations, interactive and generative design, indoor mapping projects and robotic designs to name but a few.
