Opening: ANIMA MUNDI – Three Solo Exhibitions at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello
May 07 – May 13, 2026
Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, Venice
ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with ACIT Venice, is delighted to invite you to the opening of three remarkable solo exhibitions by Anthony Emerton, Justyna Kubica, and Rosita Fernandes. The event will be inaugurated on May 07, 2026, at 06:00 PM at the historic Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello in Venice, running until May 13, serving also as an ideal introduction to the new edition of ANIMA MUNDI 2026.
This event coincides with the opening week of the 61st Venice Biennale, the most prestigious and vibrant time for contemporary art worldwide. To mark this significant occasion, a triad of visionary solo exhibitions is presented, featuring three compelling artists who have collaborated with ITSLIQUID for several years. This long-standing relationship has allowed for a deep curation that offers the public a chance to explore three distinct creative worlds. Within the baroque elegance of Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, a unique journey is proposed: from the silent, balanced abstraction of Emerton to the structural distillation of Kubica, concluding with the profound, emotional reflections on humanity by Fernandes. It is an immersive experience designed to provide an authentic look at the international art scene during Venice’s most important week.

Anthony Emerton | The Distance Between
In the solo exhibition “The Distance Between”, the boundaries of Modernist abstraction are pushed toward a purely visceral experience. Since 2020, Emerton has developed a rigorous formal vocabulary characterized by a neutral ground inhabited by two lines and a rounded, oval form. Within these self-imposed constraints, infinite variability and surgical precision are achieved; every composition is a delicate architectural balance where even a millimeter’s difference would disrupt the entire symmetry. The work is a deliberate embrace of mystery, inviting the audience to react intuitively to the juxtaposition of images and the silent power of the abstract form.
About – Anthony Emerton
Anthony Emerton is a London-born multidisciplinary artist whose academic foundation spans prestigious institutions including St. Martin’s School of Art, Leeds Polytechnic, and the University of California, Santa Barbara. A 1988/89 Pollock-Krasner Grant recipient for sculpture, Emerton established a significant presence in the Los Angeles art scene through several solo and group exhibitions. Following an extensive period of private experimentation across various styles – ranging from realism to abstraction – he has recently refocused his practice on acrylic painting on paper and canvas. His latest works explore a vibrant abstract language, the result of a profound and resilient artistic journey that continues to evolve through color and form.
Justyna Kubica | In Search of the Sign – Painting as a Method of Reduction
“In Search of the Sign” presents a sophisticated visual journey where painting is treated as a profound method of reduction. The exhibition traces a fascinating progression from lived reality (recognizable objects like doors and chairs) toward distilled forms and rhythmic structures. Gradually, the image sheds representation to become a system of signs rooted in biological and energetic analogies. The artistic language transcends the canvas, extending into textiles, ceramics, and wearable jewelry, reflecting an internal rhythm that invites a moment of pure concentration.
About – Justyna Kubica
Justyna Kubica is a Polish artist based in Krakow whose painterly practice is shaped by a robust multidisciplinary background in textile art, graphics, and restoration. A graduate of the University of Silesia and the University of Arts in Bielsko-Biala, she was early recognized as one of Poland’s most promising young painters. Her technical mastery, enriched by professional experience in conservation and ceramics, merges with an intimate, diaristic approach. Her canvases serve as visual records of emotional states and personal reflections on identity and femininity. Through an intuitive process supported by deep material knowledge, Justyna creates powerful, authentic works that transform interior experiences into tangible physical forms.
Rosita Fernandes | The Path of Love
A deeply moving reflection on the essence of existence is brought to Venice by Portuguese artist Rosita Fernandes. With a multidisciplinary background spanning marketing, interior design, photography, and sculpture, the human path from birth to maturity is explored. In this exhibition, works like “Eden Garden” and “Salvation” serve as a visionary testament to the power of empathy. Facing a world marked by painful transformations, art is proposed as a healing force, asserting that only through love can the true essence of humanity be rediscovered and saved from the modern lack of connection.
About – Rosita Fernandes
Born in Portugal in 1977, Rosita Fernandes developed a profound connection to the visual arts and movement from an early age. Following studies in Marketing and Interior Design, her artistic practice reached a turning point in 2012 during a trip to Barcelona, where the city’s architectural beauty ignited her passion for photography. Her formal training continued at the Porto Photography Institute and the Barcelona Academy of Art, where she specialized in fashion photography, ceramics, and sculpture under the guidance of mentors such as Grzegorz Gwiazda. Today, in her Portuguese studio, Rosita merges these diverse disciplines to create a fluid dialogue between three-dimensionality and imagery, constantly dedicated to sculptural experimentation and visual research.

OUR LOCATION

Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello is one of the most well-known palaces of the Renaissance in Venice. It is a historical building dating back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by several noble Venetian families, as demonstrated by the frescoed ceilings, the artistic stuccos and the fine furniture that enriches its rooms. The Palace welcomes visitors with its beautiful private garden on the ground floor, and then it gathers the guests in its large first-floor salons, in which the past and present dialogue together. The restored Old Masters’ frescoes and the contemporary art masterpieces that are periodically shown in the exhibitions hosted here make Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello the perfect location for the balance between old and new, between ancient environment and contemporary art, architecture and design.
Today, the building is managed by ACIT Venice – the Italian-German Cultural Association – which is considered one of the most important intercultural associations in Europe. Thanks to the ACIT unceasing cultural activity, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello nowadays has frequent collaborations with the Goethe Institute and with other local and international institutions, maintaining its ancient reputation. Because of these relations, it presents a huge program of memorable art exhibitions, conferences, congresses and concerts. Among the last institutional exhibitions is its participation in the 58th Venice Biennale with the Guatemala pavilion, the Dominican Republic pavilion and the Grenada pavilion. ITSLIQUID Group already had the pleasure of holding some festivals and exhibitions in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, such as MORPHOS Festival and FUTURE IDENTITIES Festival, both in 2014.
