ITSLIQUID Group is proud to announce the opening of the 9th edition of BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2026, hosted at ITSLIQUID Art Space – Barcelona from July 16 to July 25, 2026 (click here to book your free ticket).

This upcoming edition brings together a global community of artists to investigate the dynamic dialogue between the human body and the urban landscape, uncovering how our identities are reshaped by the environments we inhabit. BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY 2026 serves as a creative laboratory where painting, photography, and performance converge, inviting the audience to explore the constant metamorphosis of the self in our ever-changing contemporary world.

BARCELONA CONTEMPORARY explores the connection between body and space, reflecting on how identities evolve within today’s cultural, social, and urban contexts. Through its two curated sections, MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES, the exhibition invites artists to share their unique visions of transformation and coexistence in the contemporary world.

MIXING IDENTITIES analyses the hidden parts of our identities through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its language and infinite ways of expression.

FUTURE LANDSCAPES are abstract, infinite and conceptual, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite extension. Primarily experienced with the mind, spaces redefine their limits and borders, transforming surfaces into an open flow of pure ideas. This section focuses on the concepts of borders and the structures between body, mind and soul, human identity and the city, space and ground.
