ELEMENTS – FROM SHAPE TO SPACE is an international video art festival, focused on the relationship between sign, form and color in art, from geometric abstraction up to new contemporary expressions.
The exhibition aims to discover the experimentations in the field of video-art, analyzing the transformations of the artistic shapes in contemporary times. As said by Wassily Kandinsky, “color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.”
The Misericordia Archives are located in a suggestive and strategic position, within the vivid hub developing around the area of Scuola Grande della Misericordia.
Just next to the Misericordia Abbey Church, the archives were recently restored and turned into fascinating multi-functional spaces, with a post-industrial twist, finished with wooden details, rough plaster walls, and concrete floor. They are provided with an independent access and they are composed by two rooms, which are ready to be used for exhibiting with professional lightning system. This space is perfect for temporary exhibitions, cultural events, small cocktails.
Starting from 2001, Luca Curci with It’s LIQUID Group, has curated and organized more than 150 contemporary art events, with the participation of about 5.000 international artists from all-over the world (UK, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Portugal, The Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Turkey, Poland, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Israel, UAE, Russia, Thailand, etc.) with an average of 45 artworks exhibited in each show (with a maximum of 108 artists involved in the great MORPHOS festival held in Venice during the Architecture Biennale 2014). The organization has international partnerships with art venues in Italy, Turkey, USA, Spain, Argentina, UK, Middle East, etc., and collaborates with museums, galleries and institutions such as MuMo – Museum Montanelli in Prague, Laura Haber Gallery in Buenos Aires, MIXER gallery in Istanbul and MECA art center in Almeria.
