Ozio is a brand born from the creativity of Piero Quintiliani, a designer who has been active since 2002 in providing consultancy to brands that operate internationally. Ozio is a small revolution, a project that aspires to lead people to rediscover the precious gestures and small actions that qualify free time and moments of relaxation.
Ozio accompanies people to the (re) discovery of the pleasure of stopping, of suspending the incessant flow of the outside world to dedicate themselves to themselves. To do. To create. With imagination, with emotion, with personality.
“Ozio proposes objects capable of rediscovering an emotional bond with the matter. To recover a tactile dimension, concrete and antithetical dimension to the virtual. With Ozio products we want to amplify people’s moments of pleasure” explains Quintiliani, “through a modern, accessible, and high-quality design. Products designed to last over time, far from the logic of disposable.”
Lastword – The elastic bookmark to resume reading from the last word you read
No more pages with “dog-ears”, improvised bookmarks that slip out of books or unsuccessful attempts at trying to remember the last page you read: Lastword was created for those who love reading and are looking for a bookmark that’s different from others. Its design is created to resume reading exactly where you left off.
This bookmark is made up of a metal cursor with a brightly coloured elastic band. The cursor scrolls vertically along the strip which moves horizontally on the page, thus enabling to point the cursor precisely on the paragraph from which you want to start reading again.
The band’s elasticity allows you to adapt Lastword to books in various sizes and formats (its extension varies roughly between 18 and 35 cm). Attention to detail and extensive improvements have made it both practical and intuitive, in the challenge to reinvent an object that is famous and widespread as bookmarks are.
Thanks to its unique features, it has received two important awards: the IDA Design Award Silver 2018 in the Stationary category (writing and reading objects) and it became part of the ADI Design Index 2020. Lastword is available in five different colours (red, yellow, green, blue and coral) and can be customized for promoting brands and companies or cultural and artistic heritage as is the case with Lastword Memento, a special project created in collaboration with Fusarte.
Memento is dedicated to Italian cities, monuments, landscapes and works of art, to celebrate beauty through exclusive graphic interpretations accompanied by quotes and aphorisms by famous people such as Leonardo da Vinci, Saint Francis, Maria Callas and others.
Today, Lastword Memento has found its natural place in the bookshops of prestigious Italian museums and artistic monuments including: the Milan Duomo, the Grande Museo Del Duomo in Florence, Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the Da Vinci Museum in Florence, the Torre di Pisa Book shop, Castello Sforzesco in Milan, the Sant’Antonio Basilica in Padua, the Saint Francis Basilica in Assisi.
Lastword is an idea by Pq Design Studio, an Italian design agency that has decided to put it into production and offer it directly to the public.
Stemming from its success, a project was born that will lead to the birth of a brand which, at the moment, we can only say will be called Ozio and that soon it will be launched on the market with a series of objects whose common thread is the aim to improve the time that people dedicate to themselves.
Tama – What would winter be without a warm hug? Tama, Ozio’s new mug, can offer us one every time we take a little break
Even the coldest winter can soften if you face it in the right way: Ozio presents Tama, the hand warming mug, an object of daily use that can increase the pleasure of little breaks. Tama adds a warm hug for your hands to the comfort of a hot drink when the temperature drops.
Relief. Comfort. And why not, care. This is what we expect from a warm hug. And that’s what Tama can offer, thanks to a simple but brilliant idea. The ceramic mug is covered with a boiled wool lining which gently spreads the heat generated by the hot drink; a contrasting elastic band allows you to tuck your hands in contact with the warm lining and warm them without burning them.
The benefit of warm hands is added to that of a firm grip on the mug, thanks to the elastic band: the lining therefore performs a multiple function, and thanks to the contrasting colors and the materials chosen, contributes to the aesthetic pleasantness of Tama. After all, this is Ozio’s philosophy: useful and pleasant objects, ideas to make the time dedicated to ourselves more enjoyable. To indulge in a little pleasure.
When everything is cold, a hot drink is a pleasure. Warm hands are a pleasure. Tama restores body and spirit with a simple gesture and Ozio has managed to enclose functionality, practicality and design in an everyday object that somehow represents us: our mug.
